Guess a breed?

I need some help on this gal.....some type of kinda breed???
She is a foster for many months. I have her listed
as a Briard mix as her temperment seems Briard.
I talked to some Briard folks and they do not think
she is as far as looks(maybe personality)
She is the sweetest baby!
Her only problem is she doesn't like other dogs!
(or cats)
I should get some better pics but, she is not easy to
photgraph

Aww her eyes are gorgeous.

can't help with the breed although her face shot looks like a sheepie or a beardie
Looks just like a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier :D we take Henry for obedience class and he has fallen in love with a wheaten terrier named Barbara (Streisand) if you google you should get pics with a full coat and trimmed for show.....what a sweetie :hearts:
Her ears look Briard-y to me...... :D
Kathy - she could be anything. I wouldn't be surprised to find her listed on Petfinder as an OES (mix) (Unlikely) Have you seen some of the dogs they list there as OES crosses? (20 lbs smooth coated OES mix - I don't think so!!! We even had one rescue who tried to say that a smallish tan and white shaggy dog was just a purebred OES who didn't fit the standard. 8O   )

Her coat does look kind of wheaton, but not the rest of her. I would have thought maybe some Briard as well, but what is the likelihood, really, and if the Briard people say nay, they would know.

One of my co-workers adopted something the local shelter passed off as a Wheaton who does look a lot like her but he never looked Wheaton to me. For one thing he's considerably smaller than even a small Wheaton bitch.

Still, her coat is too distinct for her to be a true Heinz 57. Does it keep growing, or is that her length? And does she shed? And if so, how much?

Frankly, she looks like some kind of doodle mix. Probably not a sporting breed x Poodle mix given her temperament, but something about her coat says a poodle may have had a paw in her creation to some degree. Maybe a terrier-mix x poodle-mix cross or a goldendoodle x something cross.

Why don't you list her as a Mysterydoodle? Sort of a Heinz 57 with hair

Honestly, I think we need to go back to the good old days when we just said it as it is: Cute hairy mutt seeks loving home.

Do they need to be a mix of something specific in order to draw people's attention?

I don't care what she is...she is precious!!!

Holy Moley she is a cutie, what an adorable face.

Brenda
Dudley (please mom.. no more cranky dogs)
Murphy (i'm not cranky.. just misunderstood)
Todd's guess was border collie eyes and poodle hair with ??? something else too.

She is looks like a cute dog. How old is she? and how big? kind of hard to see from the picture.
It's very easy. She's a Lucy.

Okay, we'll go with she's a Lucy!

It doesn't matter how I try to explain to people
she was picked up by animal control as a stray
in the middle of no where they ask me what breed
she is....
I must admit I think I have said a few times
"Most shelter dogs don't come with papers!"
She would be no problem at all if she liked other dogs!

Those big ears make her an awesome watch dog
(or would that be hearing dog??)
First thing I said to myself when I saw the pic was LUCY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucy was listed at the shelter as Bearded Collie/Westie. I knew a Briard friend that said it looked like she had more Briard in her than a Bearded Collie and her face looked very Westie so I usually just told people Briard/Westie. She was Briard size and structure with a Westie face. When dogs start mating in weird combos, who knows what's in there. Like you said, shelter dogs don't have papers-- just make it up!
no idea but she has cute eyes.

I have to agree, looks like a wheaten to me!
She is around 80 lbs so too big for a wheatie
but, I guess if her daddy was a lab that would make sense!
Now we have Labawheats 8O
OR if she is Poodle/Wheatie
that could be a Pooweee...
Sorry, I need to get up and get my brain moving!
:sidestep:
you could always list her as 'Mixed and Made with love by Mother Nature'
