My goodness he is a mess. All I can do is email OES rescue here. |
Aw, he looks like he may have mange. Poor baby. He's so cute though. |

Is that what mange looks like? Yikes! I was trying to decide if he was was really that dirty or a mix and white and tan is his natural color. If someone talks to rescue about them and they happen to take him (or if you talk to the shelter) AND it turns out he does have mange, please mention that they may want to test him for the MDR1 mutation. The treatment for mange is (usually) high dosages of ivermectin and the treatment most likely killed an OES at a shelter in the Mid-west. Long story Kristine |
I sent the link to the So Cal OES rescue. I am not sure that is mange...he just looks really dirty and matted. Mange usually causes hair loss where you can see the skin...I don't see it. |

I think that may be hair loss under his chin there and down his chest. It's hard to tell from the picture. That was made me think it might be demodex mange. It could be dirt and a bad picture making it look like that, though. |
Poor guy, hopefully they will be able to get him. |
I just wish they would even acknowledge my email. If someone on the forum knows people over at the Southern Calif. OES Rescue...maybe they can check with them. He looks so sad. |
Hey there,
Curious if harvey's been sprung from jail yet. If it's a matter of needing a foster for him, I'll do it, but we would need to get him up to San Francisco. Who knows? Maybe I could be in line to fail Foster 10(by keeping him). Anyway, I don't know if they're kill or no-kill where he's at, so can someone please update his status. If there's anything I can do, let me know... Personal message is better so I get a notification. Cheers. and Save Harvey... |
I called the shelter earlier trying to get an update. I was on hold for a very long time until I got cut off. I just tried again and there was a recorded message saying their office hours is from 8am to 5pm and the call center is now closed (it was only 4:30pm)
I will try again tomorrow and see if I can find out anything for you |
Thank you!
I just >can't< stand the thought of a sheepie being put down. One person's pain in the ass cur is another person's silly funny furbaby. |
I did send the post to So. Cal. OES rescue, but as usual, it seems to go into a black hole. I just wish they would send a reply letting me know they are aware of him. |

Hmm, Go figure! If there is something wrong with him health wise they wouldn't take him anyway. |
I live just a few hours from CA. I don't mind going, but I am not "part of" the rescue organization. Let me know if there is anything I can do. |
I tried calling too. We don't even know if he is still there. I did try and contact rescue...at least I sent them an email. Someone will need to call tomorrow and see if he is still there first. |
Just talked to the shelter, Harvey is adopted. |
Thank you for the update!!
yay =) |
