Glasses

I have been complaining about my eyes for quite some time now.
I finally saw the Eye Dr today. I did my little bit of bragging when I first came in and told the Dr how I had only had to wear glasses when my eyes got tired because I have 20/10 vision, which is better than perfect. Also how I had done two years of vision training as a teenager.
Well I don't have 20/10 vision anymore!! :(

My last prescription glasses I got almost 8 yrs ago. The Dr said the prescription in my right eye was a bit too strong.... which I always felt that it seemed a bit off. I didn't wear my glasses unless I really had to. So it's not like it made much of a difference.
My right eye is actually almost perfect.

For the last 6 months or maybe a bit longer I have noticed changes. Lots of fuzzy edges...can't read street signs...moving stuff closer to my face to see.

So when I have needed too, I have been wearing them for driving, but they make me nauseous.

When the Dr had me move the paddle from my left eye to cover my right eye I jumped.... and asked if he had just blurred the letters. I could not even read the top line with my left eye. :(
It wasn't until that point that I realized my vision was had taken a nose dive.... at least in my left eye.

Monday I get my new glasses....which I will wear all the time. :?
I am looking forward to a less fuzzy world.

Because my vision is so different in both eyes the Dr says I will be more prone to headaches and dizziness...even with glasses.

I'm a little depressed.... guess it's all part of aging.
I am praying that I at least look good in my new glasses.

Thanks Darce!
Did you get your new contact yet? I can't wait to see again....normally!!

Billy hold things as far away as possible, he keeps saying he'll see the Dr... I won't hold my breath.
As for me, I keep moving the book closer and closer until it's inches from my eyes.

the good news is if you have bad distance vision and are willing to give up your contacts you won't need reades. I went back to glasses because i hated having to use the readers. now I just take my glasses off to read and and only use them for distance.
Welcome to the world of old eyes!! I got trifocals a couple years ago, THAT hurt
I feel ya! I'm glad this might be a helpful solution!
I am trying to read with my new progressive lenses on today. My whole worls is kinda fuzzy and the ground got all bumpy. Hey, I thought I was going to see better. Seriously, these things drive me nuts. I had them three years ago, and hated them. I hope I get used to them soon.

Maybe your prescrition isn't right.
It shouldn't be fuzzy.

I have serious nearsightedness with a stigmatism. Add bifocals, and I have some very different top and bottom halves in my lenses now!!

I have the "bumps' - most evident in a flat surface all one color. Like a wide open expanse of turf, carpet....or matting in the rally ring!!
I swear the judge thought I was drunk when we were in the ring a week after I got mine!

Mine are doing well - hope yours settle in soon!
I will wait a couple of weeks and see how it is...if it doesn't get better...I have a 30 day warranty. I think part of it is getting used to them...but I suspect there may be a problem too. I bought some frames online and had lenscrafters put the script in. They are totally round like John Lennon style frames...but they are not used to round lenses...I will make sure they are right after over $500.00. I just wonder if I can ever get used to bifocals...sigh.
Lenscrafter seems to be notorious for screwing up prescriptions.
I would take the glasses to your eye Dr and make sure you were given the correct prescription. I know the same thing had happened to my mother twice at Lenscrafter. After the second screw up she just took her prescription elsewhere and finally got the correct one.
She was hoping to get her glasses in one hour.... but they could not deliver.... at least with the correct prescription. :(
I went to go pick up my glasses. I put them on and could not see out of the right eye. 8O I immediately said there is something wrong here.
They took the glasses to the back and indeed I was right.
The right eye was the wrong lens. :( It was supposed to be a .25 correction and instead it was a 1.25 correction, no wonder I couldn't see.
Like I said, my right eye is the good eye. So I went from seeing in it, to not seeing when I put on the glasses.

They apologized profusely and said that they glasses would be ready tomorrow afternoon.
So one more day of not seeing.

I did ask what my vision changes were in my left eye.
My vision in my left eye went from 20/10 to 20/50. YIKES!!
I still can't see right out of my new glasses, but bifocals take a while. I will give it another week...grrr!
Hmm, so this is what it's like to see. 8O Interesting and yet strange at the same time.
Now I need sunglasses.
