RUN 4 – F ADULT 1YR WHITE with GRAY SHEEPDOG – This sweetie was apparently turned in by her owner because of a behavioral quirk: she just simply holds her head at a tilt. There is no medical condition associated with this behavior, as she has seen a vet to confirm this. She is incredibly sweet and loving and just wants a new home and owner who will appreciate her for the unique gal she is. She is being picked up!!! |
picked up by rescue? I'm concerned; Tonks and Luna are both one year old, and the breeder was really irresponsible with placing dogs. If this gal is in GA; it could be a litter-mate... |
Someone turned in a dog because the dog tilted its head at an angle?
There are so many things I have to say about that that I don't even want to start. |
CA? |
all i can say is
sheesh! |
Yeah!!!
It never ceases to amaze me... the stupidity of the human race. Personally, I LOVE tilted heads! |

I call that being cute!!!! Heart tilts her head..BUT I wish she would do it more...it's the most endearing thing!!!!!!!!! (I thought it was a sheepie thing...Harry does it ALOT!!!!) |

okay; if anyone wants this girl here is what I was told by the Atlanta area OES rescue team:
"OES Rescue of the SE tried first thing this morning (to get this girl), but apparently the shelter received or had worked with prior to us contacting them with a a local pure breed rescue called Pup and Cat rescue which is in the same city/county as the shelter. We tried, were just beat out. So the dog is in a rescue, just not an OES specific rescue." So anyone wanting this sweetie should look into the "Pup and Cat" rescue in Winder, GA. edit: found on google: http://www.pupandcatco.com/ |

That's a behavioral quirk?????? I thought it was a benefit of having an OES! Patch suffers from a behavioral quirk - who would have thunk it? |

sheesh! That's a million dollar Sheepie look! Who is soooo shallow that they turn a dog into the shelter for a head tilt??? The person should have their head checked. |
I'm playing devil's advocate here. So don't kill me. But if the person was hoping to show the dog, is it possible that a constant head tilt would interfere, as they wouldn't be able to hold their head straight in the show ring?
I'm just asking. I'm with you guys. I think the head tilt is cute, and a lousy reason to "dispose of" a dog. I mean truthfully, if the person was hoping to show, you'd think they'd have gone through a reputable breeder. And if that was the case, wouldn't said breeder take the dog back if there was an issue that kept the owner from showing it? Again; I'm pretty ignorant at how these things work; I'm just wondering out loud. |
There are some "breeders" here in NC/SC that produce ALOT of
pups..... Their paperwork never involves returning the dog if they can not keep it! Of course all of the reputable breeders have those clauses but, sadly there are not enough of them! (If I could ever not keep Finn, which ain't happening, he has to go back to the breeder....I totally respect that!) Considering she was shaved down they were probably not thinking of showing (nothing against shaved sheepies mine are usually) Murphy, even if he had tooters would never be a confirmation dog!! There is very little "standard" in my boy! I just hope that girl lands in safe hands! |

as do I! Whenever i read about one of these dogs that is right around my girls age, here in GA, I can't help but wonder if it isn't one of the 15 litter mates they had. Our breeder was "less than reputable" and I know she certainly wasn't screening potential owners any further than if we could afford the dog we wanted. So it tugs at my heart strings a bit to see a possible sibling being abandoned like this. |
Pup & Cat Co. in Georgia has the sheepdog named Lilly. She is 4 years old has apparently been in the care of a vet recently to diagnose any problems. My husband and I were interested in possibly adopting Lilly, and I contacted them by email and Ursula Miller stated that "Unfortunately, we do not do out of state adoptions." My husband and I live in Mississippi . So I hope someone in Georgia wants her! |
