So you call it Indian Summer when you get your first frost? We call it Indian Summer when it's much warmer than a usual fall, like a repeat of summer.
Our temps are getting cooler, too, and while I like the humidity being down, I dread the coolness because I know what follows it!! |
We get the warmer temps again too. But you have to have the first frost & then the warmer temps again for it to be Indian Summer. At least that's what the weathermen have always said! |
indian summer is warmer weather for us to, plus 21 for us last week and last year we had snow. So I will take anything. |
I'm so jealous!!! I Wish the weather was cooler here already! The boys have a million winter outfits that will never be worn here. |
It's VERY cold here, frost every morning and temps down to 30 degrees, brrrrrrrr. I have refused to turn the heat on yet, this morning it was 52 degrees in the house, it won't be long before I give in. |
It's been cold here for weeks, our "indian summer" has passed I think LOL
Many of the trees here are already bare, lots are really bright reds and oranges which is nice to see, and oddly some haven't changed at all. I thought it was going to snow the day before yesterday... |
Yes, Global Cooling is clearly taking a firm grasp on our continent, much like it did this past winter in Australia.
Ice Age Now, anyone? |
Owen and I froze our butts off yesterday morning-- well me more than him. He likes to get up at about 6:45 for morning potty and I try to do it super fast so I don't wake up too much and I can go back to bed. This morning I ran outside in just a t-shirt and SHOCKED myself awake as I stepped barefoot into the grass. The cold went right through me. Needless to say, I was awake and never went back to bed after that. |
6:45? You slacker. First call in our house is 4:45! I just came inside from the first crunchy outing of the day, frost ice and very cold. |
Indian summer is alive and well in St. Louis.....it's so nice here!!!Winter...STAY AWAY!!!! |

UGH. Nothing's getting me out of bed at 4:45-- nothing! I'm working to get Owen on the big boy's schedule so I hope he takes up their lazy way of life. We all like to sleep until at least 11 on weekends and if you wake Clyde up before then, be prepared for a lot of grumbling. Even on work days (before Owen) it was a challenge waking Clyde up to go outside at 7:30 a.m. "Five more minutes, mom, c'mon!" Once I got him out, he'd pee and poop in record time and be back up on the couch sleeping before I even got their breakfasts together. We are a very relaxed household. |
You have hours I can only dream about!!!!
I got to sleep yesterday til 7:00, it was heaven. Of course I was out on am ambulance call til 2:00AM. I took the boys out when I got home and they were content to sleep til 7!!!!!!!!!!!! |
