foot odor

Please help me! I bathe my Annabella monthly.... brush her daily... clip her nails weekly.... but I can't get rid of the foot odor! What can I do to remedy this? Our carpets stink! They smell like feet.... dirty feet.... you know like Nachos.

Hum, I'm more familar with the corn chips smell.

Sorry, I can't offer any advice. I just think its funny that we all notice the same "scent".
lol...this is a topic that will give you both sides.....

first off, there is nothing you can do...they have sweat glands in their pads, hence the smell....

and you either learn to love the smell (i do, i know its sick) or maybe try baby wiping her pads a couple of times a day..

i think they smell like fritos!

Especially when you think about all the stuff they walk in outside .... (where is the ewwww emoticon?)

We pick up Harry's poop a lot more during walks so the backyard is fairly poop-free but sometimes we would find poop with a pawprint in it in the backyard when we had Mopsy.
Unless your dog is a show dog, you might consider shaving the fur between the pads and keeping it short.
Shorter hair around the pads = less hair to absorb and hold odor.

You might ask your vet about using Caldesene powder...it's for babies and adults. Seals out wetness and smells good too.

I use a scissors, but yes, they are trimmed before a show.

They are trimmed for better contact with the floor before a weight pull too! (just a FYI in case you wanted to know!) :D
Could it be bacteria in between the toes, I have come across this before your vet would be able to confirm

  I admit, I love the Frito Toes too.

Of course I'm very careful, first sniff before proceeding.
Let the pup run on damp grass they'll clean up nicely

That is one thing i do NOT smell on Patch - dirty stinky paws. Her clydesdale paws seem fine to me. Now the gas, that is a different story. It doesn't matter what she eats, it makes your eyes water. I've never had a dog with bad gas like she has. But, she is such a good girl so it is ok. I love her, stink and all.
Yes I have the same problem and I use the baby wipes trim the hair and wet grass walks, I also soak hes feet in a bucket of water. Nothing works very long becaues as soon as they dry pee uuuuu! again I also kiss his stinky feet and say tohim your my sheepie got to love it. I did veiw the photo on trimmed paws but how did you do That I use siccors but how did you get them shaved to the skin.
Maggie has a lovely dead fish foot smell that we can't seem to solve either.

Always a pleasure to wake-up to each morning in addition to the punch in the face!
me too 1000X!!
we have a mixed breed dog and she has "corn chip toes" :)
They smell like fritos no matter what I do to clean them .. sure it is reduced abit on bath day but no better tbe next .. just gotta love them any way!
There's one thing I know. U should only bathe the dog once or twice a year, or their coats will loose sheen! My dog never had that problem, but maybe you should ask a vet just in case! :wag: :D
I loved the fritos paws or popcorn toes of my Sammy. I'm not the only one who thinks that smell is delicious! HeHe! Check out this brilliant quote from Michael Ondaatji's famous novel "The English Patient":

"Her father had taught her about hands. About a dog's paws. Whenever her father was alone with a dog in a house he would lean over and smell the skin at the base of its paw. This, he would say, as if coming away from a brandy snifter, is the greatest smell in the world! A bouquet! Great rumours of travel! She would pretend disgust, but the dog's paw was a wonder: the smell of it never suggested dirt. It's a cathedral! her father had said, so-and-so's garden, that field of grasses, a walk through cyclamen--a concentration of hints of all the paths the animal had taken during the day."

The greatest smell in the world... A bouquet! Indeed!! :excited:
This thread reminds me of the one titled "My dogs feet smell like Fritos" that was on here back and forth for years! Always brought a smile to my face reading about everyone loving their dog's smelly frito feet

I must admit, I also find the smell rather comforting  I will say in the dryer weather the smell isn't really there...and I miss it

   Maybe it's a scent that you can get as a plug-in... to use during dry times.
Wondering what they'd name it...
