Meeting her new family was notable. First, the oldest (8 year old Roxy) came in. Betsy and Roxy got within about an inch of a nose to nose sniff, when Betsy let out the loudest yelping sound. It startled gentle Roxy and she has been shunning Betsy ever since. When Janey and Ziggy arrived, laid back Betsy growled and then barked at them. After a few reassuring words (and finally being told no on the barking and growling thing) she settled in and mauled Ziggy. Betsy S Ross drinks water like a big ole dog. And she has already eaten out of her sisters and brother's bowls; slept on their beds and played with their toys. Then she gave me the sheepish look when she got put to bed in her crate. (picture pending approval.) We are both looking forward to tomorrow! ~q |

Thank you!... The pix are approved and in our album. Also, her car ride pic is my new avatar. The only thing I can say after our first 24 hours together is boy am I glad I pulled all the carpets out of my house - and- that I have so many old towels! |

Thanks! No, the S stands for Silly. I know that is sort of redundant with sheepies, but I just had to! |

Thanks... they are up and posted. Somehow, I forgot to take any today. Must have been all the spills I cleaned up today and the ongoing puppy proofing efforts. The great news is that she is really easy to house train - like many things, it is all about the timing. While she hasn't mastered the doggie doors yet, she does understand that the glass doors open up to the yard and so she heads that way when she needs to go out. (I know, big talk for day 1, eh? ) Thanks again! |

E... I am looking forward to seeing you two together. I will email you about possible dates for next week, as soon as my client returns and I firm up some work stuff. I am currently on "Family Leave" (hey, it is my company, I can call it what I want! ) See ya next week. hugs, ~n |

Thank you so much. This is the very first puppy I have had since the 60s when I had my first sheepy. And since I have never had children either, I feel a bit like the proverbial indulgent parent... I just think she is the cutest thing... (I am so smitten!) Thank you for your well wishes! |
Oh My... Little Miss Betsy is cute as a button !!! |

I just think she is the cutest thing... (I am so smitten!) Thank you for your well wishes! Congratulations! Be careful, though. Make sure she has all of her shots (usually about 12 weeks) before you start taking her out places. They're very vulnerable to things before then, especially parvo, which can be devastating for puppies. We're counting down the days until Owen gets his 12 weeks shots so we can get him out of the house! Have fun with Betsy! |
What a cutiepie!
I am another forum member from the area. I live in Palm Desert. A late welcome to the forum I have an OES Imposer. After taking the DNA test, I still have no idea what he is Can I join you and E for the next meet up? I would love to bring Clayden to meet with pupper. I can't promise Clayden will be on his best behavior but just like last year Sheepie Fest, I will promise to strap Clayden on my back if he misbehaves He just got his shots all updated, so he is good for meeting doggie friends again. |

Have fun with Betsy! Thanks so much. Yes, I do understand about keeping her safe. I am hyper vigilant... I really felt like taking her to the vet's office was a risk! So I held her the whole time - and put her blanket underneath her when she had to stand on the big dog scale since she is too jumbo (20.5 lbs at 11 weeks) for the cute baby scale they had set up in our exam room. Thanks again for the helpful warning.... I hope Owen has a grand time when he finally gets out! |

Clayden sure is a cutie! He is quite wonderful Thanks for the welcome and the compliment. Sure we can all get together. I am looking forward to meeting you and Clayden too. Oh, I also got word yesterday that there is another Sheepie who joined the desert contingency. A couple who had hoped to have one of Betsy's littermates adopted an older dog. I don't have a great deal of info about them, but can get info about SheepieFest in the West to them via the breeder. And one of Betsy's brothers lives in Idyllwild now. So the desert clan has grown by 3 in the last week -- and I just discovered that one of my neighbors has a sheepie too, so that's four new prospects for SheepieFest! ...so much fur, so little time! |

Thank you! I just posted Betsy's Halloween picture and some other special moments from her first week. Meanwhile, Ms. Ross is pretty fidgety right now, so I can tell it must be POTTY-time! Gotta run. Thanks again! |
