I've been helping out a friend of a friend take care of this girl (Molly). Molly's owner has had a medical relapse (brain tumor) and is back in rehab care and getting chemo and such. I've been taking care of Molly (at her apt) for the last several weeks. We've been trying to find a temporary home for Molly right now (it may become permanent....we don't know the prognosis). I've contacted several of the border collie rescues in the area, but they are full or don't really want to take a mix, or said she would be difficult to place. The challenge is that Molly has been living with her owner for about 3-4 years alone and she seems to be fearful of certain people. She has acted out (growling, snapping) toward some men and some children and dogs. But I've seen her with other men and she's been fine. Molly would do best in a home with no kids and probably no other animals. A dog person that could train her more and help her with her fears would be ideal. She's a very playful and loving girl. She walks pretty well on the leash (pulls a bit), she's crate trained and totally housebroken. I've sent this out to many people already, but we haven't had much luck. Please pass on to anyone you may know in the Chicago area and if interested please email me at pocha3@hotmail.com subject: Molly. Thanks! Keep your fingers crossed that we can find a place for her. Sue P.S. once I remember how to put a picture up, I will. |
