thats so funny because i just experienced visiting Direct Buy in Rochester few days ago.. i had a vistor pass and it's a rip offffffffff.
the catch is you have to buy the item before they reveal the price. they didnt have many good stuff anyway. Depends on the location i guess. im in the middle of renovating my kitchen and i was hoping to find a deal where i can buy a oven, microwave and fridge at a one price. when my brother renovated his venice house, he was able to find a warehouse that sold appliances at a factory price. in fact, i think he only paid 1300 total for the three stainless steel GE appliances. Theyre only located in California if anyone knows a good place to buy appliances in the East Coast at a direct price - let me know!! sorry forgot to log in laural (london) |
I never heard of not telling you the price til you bought!!!! Sounds like a rip off to me!!!
But then, I am fundamentally against the concept of PAYING for the privilege of shopping somewhere. I refuse to go to Sams club or Costco for that reason. |
It is direct buy I was thinking about. I looked on line and it seems they charge nearly $5000 for membership !!
think I will stick with the local stores. |
You'd better be furnishing a whole house or two, remodeling, etc to offset that $5,000 membership fee. |
The prices might be good, but you'll get no warranty on the merchandise; if you order something and it arrives broken, YOU will have to deal with the manufacturer... good luck with that.
In general I've read tons of horror stories about Direct Buy (and their former entity UCC (or something like that)) |
