Often we see questions about breeding, or requests/offers for stud service, etc. Where should this go? PS: If you want me to add an option to the poll, let me know, either in public or by PM. Thanks. |

I think this could be very helpful, for people to know the in and out's of breeding. Especially the risks involved, and the way one should go about it. Why or what's happening to your dog during it's pregnancy?
If people knew the statistics of problems in breeding, or the cost one pays to have all the testing done, and the likelyhood of not selling these puppies, what it takes to be a good breeder...they will do it right if they have any conscience at all. Because I feel if you become informed on a subject you can't ignore what you've learned, you can't claim ignorance. And people looking for puppies need to know what questions to ask, what proof to see, and then they too can make an informed decision on their new best friend...instead of falling for those cute faces. |
Those are excellent points Daisie.... |
Hi
I think there should be a forum on breeding as education is the key. This site is what taught me what to expect from a breeder and how to select a good one. As long as we perhaps don't target anyone in particular and give them a fair chance, but give the members all the information needed to make a good choice. If someone asks for info on a specific breeder which we know is not reputable and have first hand knowledge of this ..we can perhaps tell the person in pm but not on the board. Still answer their question in general terms of what to expect in a breeder that is reputable. Its after all for the good of the breed and because like everyone we do it because we care about Sheepies. Marianne and the boys |
