My DIL came home 24 hours after delivery with the instructions to SLEEP (who sleeps with a baby), my son was also badly in need of sleep since neither had slept much for the 3 days prior. So "GRANDMA GINNY" has had lots of baby time Mom feeds and Grandma rocks till the next feeding. Savannah is being very good but I'm starting to feel like a new mom My son went back to work today so I was "on duty" extra early. But I feel extra lucky to have gotten to know my granddaughter so well over the last couple days. It will soon be time to head home I think she is unusually smart for just 3 days old!! |

Welcome to the granny world and love her name , |
It is funny how you forget that the world revolves around them...they had to rehospitalize my daughter on the 7th day...she had been without sleep for 10 days and had terrible alergic reactions..still don't know why but her throat kept her from sleeping...I stayed and by day 10 Grandma was so worn out...baby Zoe was great, eating, sleeping, etc...She still dominates most of our time at 16 wks....we all just surround her waiting for every sound, trying to make her smile and laugh...so far I have been the only one to make her laugh hard with that belly laugh...must be the old funny face. Now that I have Maggie, 12 wks. the world here at home pretty much revolves around her too! Though the days and nights may be tiring...they are just the greatest moments in life and just don't last long enough! So many memories of my daughter being an infant came flooding back holding my grandaughter...enjoy every moment! |

As someone in the thick of it...Babies ARE A LOT OF WORK!!
Awwww...sounds like you're having a wonderful, yet tiring time! You're being exactly the help you need to be. You're in DC, right? You wanna come down an hour+ south and be Taylor's grandma for a few days so I can sleep? |

You wanna come down an hour+ south and be Taylor's grandma for a few days so I can sleep? HAHAHAHA, I'm going to need a vacation when I am done here. We are actually in Springfield, VA. Today has been good. Mer was getting really frustrated with the whole breast feeding thing (she'd kill me if she knew I was telling). Savannah wasn't feeding well and pediatrician told her they would have to switch to formula if it didn't improve. Well today she is getting lots of sleep and just getting up to feed. AND my son is at work. I think HE was half her problem. Being a Physics teacher he wants to know exactly what is going on and exactly HOW MUCH the baby is eating. I think he was making her crazy. So my job when he gets home is to tell him to leave her alone when she is nursing!! I am a HUGE supporter of breast feeding, did the whole LaLeche league thing when mine were small, NEVER fed a baby a bottle in my life. He Mom used formula so at least I can be of some help and support. Very FUNNY Ron |
