What's you sheepie's typical day?

Just wondering what your typicla day is for your sheepie? Does he sleep all day? Stay outside all day? Play with other dogs? What tires him out most?

My sheepie begins his day sleeping later than I'd like. So I have to wake him at 7 am when he gets walked and fed. The he begins his nap and I go off to work. I come home at lunch and we walk again, throw the ball around in the yard and its nap time for him - work for me.

When I get home for the day, the real fun begins with a long walk, training, some jumps over the agility jumps and hoop, etc. After which we sit on the porch and he has a bone and me a glass of wine
After dinner is another walk, some more play outside and then tv...Bed time is about 10 and we start all over again...

Is this enough exercise or do you think he's bored?
Share your sheepie typical day please!

wow! thats a great day for a sheepie!!

Panda eats breakfast at 730 while i get ready for work..then she takes a power nap...once dressed and coffee poured she stretches her way over to me for a kiss goodbye and a cookie...then its naptime again till 430...at that time, she is sitting patiently at the back door for me...

i come in ...hugs wiggles and kisses..a quick potty followed by dinner...then after our dinner, a long walk and play in the park...

baby time while we watch tv...then at 9 she is allowed on the bed for an hour or 2 of snuggle time...
the boyfriend and I both work from home, so depending on our workload, our days vary.

But usually the girls are up at an obscene 10 or 11am. Seriously. Sometimes I have them up at 9am for an hour long walk. Breakfast for them is at 11am.

Then its sleeping until 3 or 4. Sometimes they go with me on errands during the day, or to the pet store to get food, or to the do it yourself dog wash. Sometimes its playdates at the park. At least once a week I like to take them to Doggie Daycare.

Weather permitting, 3 or 4 times a week we go a couple of blocks over to a nice park around 5pm, where they play with other dog-pals until around 7pm. Sometimes we'll drive to one of two other parks where we meet up with other sheepdogs and their owners. Then its home for dinner and bedtime is anywhere from midnight to 2am. I also like to get in an evening walk if they seem a bit energetic; I do that anywhere from 9pm to 11pm, for a half hour.

We keep weird hours, so our girls keep them with us.
I work 4 days a week - 6:30am to 4:30pm. On work days - Alarm goes of at 5:15 am - let all the dogs out into the dog yard (all except Tazz, he goes out the other door into the yard by himself - he is too little to be out unsupervised with the rest.)

Stumble to the computer (non-morning person here...) check my email, weather report and HERE of course. Answer stuff that needs answering, the rest has to wait until after work.

Pack lunch, shower, off to work by 6:05am. Dogs get put in their respective places. Some in crates, loose or on the porch. Chewie gets the porch, as that is his preferred spot anyway all the time - it has a painted cement floor and he loves it. Also loves looking out the big garden window. Riley who goes out there with him loves the window, as it has a big window seat and he lays in it all day!

The other varable is husband - he works rotating 12 hr shifts - 5-5. So sometimes he is gone, sometimes sleeping, or else has the day off. So, it isn't that often that we both are gone all day - about 6 days a month.

I come home about 4:45 and am greeting by the mob. Even if Todd is on nights and he just left at 4:30!!! They act like they have been robbed of human company forever.

If Todd was home he fed them already. If not, I feed them all. I make supper and eat. Dogs hang out and digest. Out to potty again.
Many evenings I have a dog related activity and take one or 2 with. Usually it is Chewie and Simon. Chewie always goes to class (dog training) with me. He gets to be the demo dog, otherwise he lays in the center of the ring during the class. Then we work on rally or obedience and a little conformation after I teach.
Other nights it is a therapy dog visit somewhere.

Chewie gets a face and private parts wash before going, so I need to do that - usually right after he eats and potties - so he can start drying while I eat. Simon needs his dangly ears washed too. I hate taking them out dirty in public. Both love the hygeine, they know it means they get to go somewhere!

I also walk - means going back inbto town and walking 4 miles with my son's GF and his min pin Dino. I bring dogs with for that too. Chewie lately, as he is getting conditioned for show, weight pulls and other fun sports. Simon or the others come if it is a different, shorter walk.

2nd feeding is later - after I get home or right before bed. I stay up at least an hour after they eat so they all can potty, then we all hit the hay.

Days like today are great - my day off. We have all sorts of fun stuff. Simon and Chewie are coming to town with me to run errands - love the cool weather we are having. Then we are going to The Paw and setting up for the weight pull at the grand opening of the Paw tomorrow. Our therapy dog chapter also is having a booth, so setting that up too. They of course will get to play while there, so they will be happy dogs.

Otherwise, in the evening they get to play outside and "help" with chores. All but Maggie the coonhound are safe in the yard loose. Poor Maggie, she has to stay in the dog yard! But, it is getting to be hunting season and the hounds have gotten to go out on several training missions lately - she comes home just pooped out. :D
I too have a 4 day work week. Starts at 5 am with a paw and a kiss, dad I hear the alarm...wake up. I get him feed and make coffee. Let Obe out if he wants, sometimes he lays down when I open the door. BTW non of this happens before the alarm goes off ever, unless its an emergency. Then I have coffee sit down and check the weather, news, oes.org, etc. At 5:45 I get dressed, make lunch 50% of the time, let Obe out, and get him some fresh water for the day. We then go for a walk, around 20- 30 minutes. Come back and I go to work. A friend of mine comes over and takes Obe for a longer walk around 9 or 10. She does this when ever she can 2-4 times a week. Then I get home around 5 - 5:15 and he goes out to potty and I get some love. He then marches straight to the food bowl and he eats. Then hge rests for a couple of hours and after I eat, clean up kitchen, and shower we go for another walk 8-9 usually. Then we play or give belly rubs depending on what he wants, usually gets both. He goes to sleep around 10 and I at 11. Repeat process.
On days off he goes everywhere with me, we play, etc.
Our typical doggie day begins like this. Alarm goes off at 445, I get up let Beau and Cheyenne outside, go get Sophie out of the crate, let her out to join the other two. They do the sheepie 500 around the yard for about 15 minutes. Let them back in and they eat breakfast and hugs and a.m. kisses. They play while I get ready for work. I leave for work hubby lets them out around 630. They come in at 7am they are crated its off to school for hubby and son. 330 Son lets them out to do the sheepie 500, plays with them. Chey chases the cats that roam into our yard and the sheepies try to herd them back. Now thats a riot to watch. The cats are faster. LOL LOL He lets them back in feed and waters them. I come home and its attack of the sheepies. Hugs kisses and loves you'd swear I've been gone a year. LOL Then its supper time for us and the doggies are usually sleeping. Then its playtime. Fetching sticks balls etc outside. Around 8 I give the sheepies a quick brushing and they usually rest. Then at 10 I head to bed Beau is right there at the door waiting to go to bed also. Around 11 hubby lets them out for one last pee and then off to the crate for Sophie and the other two go to their sleeping spots.

On my days off I usually get awakened by a fuzzy mop thats in my face saying why arent you up yet??? its starting to get light out. You're late mom. LOL I swear Beau has a built in alarm clock. He doesnt let me sleep in on my days off
Now that school has started, life isn't quite as fun as it was when I was home all day with the dogs. :( (for me or for them!) Weekdays, we get up at 6:15, Bob (hubby) lets the dogs out for a potty break about 6:30 and then they're both back in while the girls and I get ready for school. They wrestle on the living room floor, pester us for attention, wander around the house, eat, nap, and get put outside in the yard at about 7:45. Sammi comes home from school about 9 and takes them on a walk before heading out to work at 9:45. She comes home for lunch and lets them in again for some loving and a quick snack. Someone is always home again by 4:30 so they're back in for playing, napping, rough-housing, etc. I'm home around that time and get attacked. Most nights they get another walk, playing, having a great time. Each night about 8:00, they go crazy! They start the NASCAR run around the house chasing each other usually about four laps around the entire house upstairs and down, standing up on their hind legs making the "wookie" noise (from Star Wars), rolling around the family room chewing on each other, having a great time! When they're finished and both completely pooped, Charlie usually lays on the tile in front of the fireplace to cool off while Libby climbs up on the couch for a "before bedtime nap." At 10, it's time to start winding down for bed so they are on our bed to watch the news and Letterman (along with some quality rubbing). Frequently, while we're watching TV, I brush through Charlie.

Weekends are different as we're all home. There's a lot more activity outside as we're mowing the lawn and weeding the flowers. If we have errands and can take them, they get an outing. There's LOTS of playing, herding the exercise ball around the yard. During the week, Charlie destroys countless boxes all over the yard (his fettish) so we get to clean all that up on Saturdays. They have a great time frolicking around and having lots of attention. We seemed to have settled into a good routine...finally. :)
~ 6:30ish Bingley goes outside and then comes in to have breakfast.

We leave for work at about 6:45 and return home around 4:30 in the afternoon.

~ 4:30 or 5:15ish Bingley goes out for a short walk with myself or Ian.

~ 7:20ish or whenever it is cooler outside we bring Bing out for either a very long walk or about 20+ minutes of playing Frisbee.

~ 9:00 Bing has dinner.

He loves his days - when it is cooler outside we are able to do much more with him, of course, but when it's hot he enjoys sleeping on tile!!
I work from a home office as well. My dogs get up when we do - during the school year that's 6:45. They go out to the back yard for a bit and when they come in they get fed. I get the kids off to school and we usually go for a walk before I start my workday - they sleep at my feet, sometimes pushing each other for the best (closest to mom) spot.

They go out when I make lunch. The only other excitement for the day is when the mail comes. Our mail slot is in the front door and they attack the mail everyday.

Then at about 4:30, we go outside again, load up in the car and pick up the kids. THEN, it's playtime. They run and play a lot before dinner, then again after dinner. We often go to the park near our house where they can go off leash and have a great run. Then we're in while the kids finish homework and bathe, and they go to bed with the kids at about 8:30-9:00.

The schedule alters slightly depending on what sports season it is, but that's mostly it. When it's soccer, swimming or basketball season, they generally go with us to practices and we walk the tracks or play in the fields away from practice.
I work at home so it is always different.
7:45 we get up put out for pees and a bark.
Back in house to wake up my son... they jump on him and then lay down with HIM sooo I have to get three of them out of bed.
Once Dax out of bed they come for a treat.
8:30 they eat and rumble LOUDLY.
9:00 they settle down and I usually go down stairs to work at times I hear them outside(if weather is nice for the doggy door..... id they are in the mood to bark at everything they get lock down in th house till lunch) Then they sleep at the top of the stairs.
12:00 they go nuts when I come upstairs and EXTRA crazy if my sone brings someone home.
1:00 nap time and bone chewing You can hear Blue chewing his bone(AND I know he is out of trouble)
5:00 dinner and play and treat
6:00 we all watch tv and have some brushing time if now we do after 9 when they are tired
7:30 walk, if Blue gets his way
8:30 if I win
9:00 play in yard and getting ready for down time.

If I am slow and not working they follow me everywhere... How they know when I am not busy I will never know.
I wake up at 7:30 am Laika gets her pee and poo then breakfast. Right now it is Elk.

She comes to work with me unless it rains then stays home we have a dog door so she can come and go into her kennel. In the kennel at work sometimes she is by herself or with another dog.

If she is at work we go for a 45 minute walk at lunch around town.

5:30pm work is finished and we either go to a beach for a run or walk in town or go home and have a bike ride.

Supper... usually chicken necks. then she takes an hour or so to practice herding the cats.

Then finally lies down and then off to bed around 11pm.

If I stay up later I can hear her scratching at the bedroom door wanting to go to bed. humpf! Wish I had her life.
who has a typical day?
Depends. If either upright, or both have yard duties, then it's time to supervise, either close by or under a shrub with eyes closed. If there's water involved, Simone take a more personal interest. All have fence duty.

Fence patrol is barking and running with any large truck, pedestrian, bicycle and to go nuts with any horse and rider. It also includes chatting with the dogs on either side.

If I'm home then it's who ever I can scoot out the door for fence patrol, otherwise they are sacked out inside. Well, no, Harry lets himself outside, he's a self started. Simone will sleep until 3 (unless I turn on the vacuum) and then prepare herself for husband's return when she is ready for whatever he has planned.

After dinner it's time outside with uprights then settle in for book reading, TV, computer viewing and then bedtime.

If I'm gone from home, all four are on fence patrol, but I've noticed a few magically appear from the garage when I return which means they've been sleeping......the scamps.
