I have had difficulties in the colors myself,I would just register them the closest to the color I thought they would be,and close to the parent dogs. |
to me they are all black and white, then turn gray and white. Obe papers say blue gray. I guess if I wasn't color blind it would help some. |
I registered mine as Black/White as that is the colour they pop out.
Transitions as they grow vary so much, I don't think there is a True "Blue Merle" a lot of standards world wide has been altered and the "Merle" is no longer mentioned as a coat colour. Depending on the line they can be anything from really dark grey, to almost a black/grey, grizzle is a combination of the grey colour on the guard hairs, to some staying a real light silvery grey all their lives. As long as there is no Brown in the jackets as a mature sheepie then the grey colours vary a lot, most should have a Light undercoat underneath to go with the varying colours of grey guard hairs I posted some photos ages ago of Transitions of the coat and the varying colours as they mature, here is the link to see from baby pupper to maturity even though the coat colours on a mature OES can vary. Kelsey stayed a light silvery colour as a mature dog and Brie went Darker when fully matured even though they are heavily related. http://www.oes.org/page2/10404~Coat_Tra ... s_Old.html |
