Someone complained. Another rescue. Since the complaint, he had to register as a kennel. Then they forced him to buy an air-conditioned trailer to transport. Then he got hit with a sales tax bill for all previous placements. He claims to have put $60,000 of his own money into this, but these current bills total $24,000. The "other rescue" is a no-kill animal shelter. I know the area well. They just want people to adopt out of the local shelter. He is doing a service for the other animals since the shelter he gets them from is a kill shelter.
It always comes down to money...it is also an upper middle to upper class area. I am disgusted by the behavior. They should rejoice that more pets are being saved, not worry about if he is cutting into their income. |
