I haven't and I don't want to come off as flippant or rude, but I think it's a total racket.
Check out the price list for these "consultations": http://www.animalcommunicator.net/consultations.htm While I completely believe that there are people who are more intuitive with certain animals, I do not believe that any particular person can communicate with any animal - especially after a phone call with the owner and having never met the animal. And even if they do "in-person" consultations, the fact that they offer the phone type completely discredits them in my eyes. I liken it to the psychic hotline. Stupid. But they have a great gig because there are going to be desperate people who will try anything and nobody can absolutely prove that they can't communicate with animals. |
no but I know someone who has and was very happy with the results. |
I know a bunch of people who swear by certain communicators. I took Belle to one once - well, we were already on site - thinking I could prove to myself once and for all it was a crock.
Haven't been back. Not because I proved to myself that my sceptiscm was warranted, because it scared the &^&^& out of me. I guess there is such a thing as too much information. I have considered taking Sybil to one, just because I figure if ANY dog can confound one, it would be her. To be honest - get out the straight jacket (for me, Kerry, not Sybil ) I've had two instances where a dog communicated very briefly with me. It was just a flash and a sensation and I tried hard to block it out in both instances (reflex, don't ask me why, but it was very unsettling). One was Belle and one was a dog belonging to a friend, both dogs I had a connection with. I've spoken (more casually) with several communicators and all said the same thing: it's not some special gift. We're all capable of it if we can open our minds to the idea. I still can't quite come to grips with the notion of looking at a picture for a phone consultation, but... Who knows? Kristine |

You can't tease us like this! What was the gist of the two communications you had??? |
Embarrassing, and contrary to what I would have put my money on (dogs waking me up by sending telepathic message: "FEED ME!" ) Belle's was during an agility run.
She used to be have issues with the pause table but had been doing it really well for some time. She ran nicely, we got the table, she refused to sit or down or whatever it was and kept turning her back to the direction of travel. It was a nice run up to that point and I was kind of aggravated to have this table issue resurface and no sooner had I thought "what the heck is wrong with you NOW!!!!" when I got this image of a wall of border collies, in caricature, a solid wall of them in the direction she was looking, piled ten high or so (I don't know, it was a flash of an image) black and white, red and white, all staring at her with that BC stare. It was so vivid I looked up and in that direction and of course saw nothing but other agility competitors and their dogs and not a lot of any of them and certainly nothing that resembled a wall of anything, let alone border collies. But I stepped around the table to block that direction, told her to sit/down and she did and then we carried on. In the heat of the moment, all that adrenaline, I didn't even think much of it till we finished the course. Then I tried to come up with all kinds of RATIONAL explanations, such as my own brain had made the leap that she was afraid of something - not unthinkable to have a stress reaction on the table - but I just never came up with a better explanation than that was what she saw in her own worried mind and I somehow got a glimpse of it. I know, I know - kind of nuts. The other incident was much more mundane and could be explained away more easily I'm sure. Actually, I don't think so, and it shook me up badly enough that I almost fell over a piece of agility equipment in surprise, but I won't insist for fear of earning myself an extended stay in some padded room One thing both incidents had in common were they were both emotionally upsetting on some level. In Belle's case, I felt her fear and it wasn't pleasant. If you believe that's what happened of course. Kristine |
At least poor sybil wasn't the target for the straightjacket
The kind of communication you cited is probably not that unusual for people connected to their dogs - I truly believe we are all capable of that level of communication. And while you saw border collies others might just get an impression of the fear. I have issues with the telephone and picture consultations. Just way tooo skeptical I guess. |
This is an interesting topic. I think I am pretty well connected to the girls; they seem to get the gist of what I want from them, even when there's no command given, or no command for the action I want. But they do it anyway.
And my trainer has commented on how "in-synch" the girls and I seem to be. It could just be that they are in-tune to my body language; or it could be that there's a deeper bond there. I'm just glad that we do seem to "talk" well with each other. However, my sister's cat was recently hit by a car and killed. She's been in contact with a pet psychic/ pet communicator in California. My sister lives in Sydney, Australia. She swears that this person is helping her to talk with her passed cat. I think its crock; but it makes my sister happy. When my sister tried to suggest that I should call this person, to better communicate with my pets, I declined. I feel very connected to my dogs and my cats; and don't feel the need to pay a person across the country to do it for me. |
