Let us hope that the recent calamity in S E Asia will serve as a wake-up call to mankind; a reminder that we are all brethren on planet Earth and we should all unite as brothers and sisters. Let us hope that we can all learn something from this lesson and see in the New Year with compassion and hope. Let us all open up our hearts and spare a thought for those who have recently given their lives and to those poor souls who have been left behind in mourning to pick up the pieces and start their lives over. Thoughts and prayers are energy and the more people who collectively focus on a common cause, the more powerful the energy will be. Please spend a few moments on Sunday 9th January at 7.00pm, light a candle and pray for the souls who departed, for their loved ones left behind, for the future of Asia and for Peace on Earth |

That's a wonderful thought B-Eye. When we think of what a couple cups of Starbucks coffee cost , or a couple of treats, maybe not purchasing a new clothing item - all of those things are not essential to our survival, but the money sent instead would be of importance to the people there.
I was offered a job in Phuket, Thailand 3 years ago - sounded wonderful, employment at the Banyan Tree Hotel, all meals included, a two bedroom hut on the beach. My son didn't want to leave his friends and I couldn't leave my dogs behind - Shaggy and Blue. The last two years he regretted this decision especially when viewing pics of the beautiful beaches and resorts. I too felt a twinge of regret at times when something about that area would come on tv. Eventually, I became Mom to Merlin and Panda and knew long term employment out of the country would not be a reality for me now for years. Thanks to unanswered prayers we are safe and sound on this side of the planet. My heart goes out to all those people in that distant land. We are share the same planet and they are in my thoughts so much. |
