It's estimated that they are between 1 and 3 years of age, possibly mother & daughter. If anyone is interested and able to help these girls, the Wyandot Humane Society website is http://www.wyhumane.org/ and their phone number is 419-294-4477. I've seen photos of the dogs and they are lovely. Sharon |

Quick update:
Just spoke with Ann at the shelter and she told me that there is a waiting list for these ladies and she believes they will be leaving the shelter to go to a home soon.... |
Is it just me. why would people try to make a dog seem to be in danger when they aren't? |
I got a different story from a woman named Mandy at the shelter this morning. She said no one has filled out any adoption forms for the girls, although a few people have looked at them.
When I asked if they were in danger of being put to sleep, I got no assurances that they were safe. I was told they did euthanize at the shelter and there were more dogs than homes. This is completely consistent with the information we've received from a volunteer in the shelter who initially notified NYOESR that the 3 dogs were at the shelter. (Bear in mind the male OES that was brought in with the females has already been put to sleep. Does that seem consistent with the existence of a waiting list?) I work for Madeline (NYOESR) and she asked me to post current information about the dogs on this forum. So Kerry, I don't know why anyone would try to create alarm. It's certainly not what I'm trying to do. It's a case of talk to three people, get two answers, I guess. I'm relaying the facts as I know them. Finally, I don't know why people who are not specifically interested in adopting the dogs are contacting the shelter. The resources at the shelter are limited and it doesn't help matters if they get a number of calls from curiosity seekers. If people are interested in doing OES rescue in Ohio, I encourage them to contact Madeline. We've got plenty of work to go around. However, I'd like to keep this thread specific to making people aware of the existence of two OES at the shelter in Upper Sandusky as I was asked to do by NYOESR. Signing off... Sharon |

Sharon To sign off, one would need to sign on first! Are you a member here? If not, please consider joining and posting while logged in so that people can contact you through the forum privately. Perhaps this will save some calls to a shelter? Thanks for all you are doing! |
Thank you Sharon for helping these two girls. I hope someone is able to help them. |
What are the dates on forum? |

What does that mean? |
I dont understand, maybe it's just me? so the females has been put to sleep already?
(Bear in mind the male OES that was brought in with the females has already been put to sleep. Does that seem consistent with the existence of a waiting list?) if so, why werent they pulled out by a rescue organization? |
nevermind! I just called and they've been adopted. I would have fostered them if they were still going to be put to sleep.
yay! |
