Oh, and no fair guessing if you already know! |
|
Gotta be Morty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I also said Morty cuz cheap fabric and dim lighting, that's how you move merchandise. |
At first I was all bummed no one was guessing and then I realized that I forgot to check the poll part! |
Far be it from me to reveal your little secret!
Keep everyone else in suspense. Muhahaha!!! Maybe you weren't even being honest with your friends. |
My first sheepdog's name was Newman. |
Quote: Maybe you weren't even being honest with your friends.
I hadn't considered that! |
HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I was a friend and she didn't tell MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
You mean coke codes don't buy friendship |
Morty is the name of a site I go to, so that's the only reason why I chose it. Makes no sense, I know... just really stuck out. What would Justin be after (your husband?)? I assume you don't have Timberlake posters on your wall. |

Actually, I really like Justin Timberlake, believe it or not! I don't have posters but I especially like him as an actor. Even James thinks he's okay because he golfs and is pretty good. |
JAMES!!! That's right. I'm terrible about remembering those things.
I like Justin T. too, but if that is "why" someone named their dog then I'd say it would be an odd match. JT isn't exactly a big long-haired mop. |
I voted OWEN, but just because I like the sound of it.
So, what time is the big reveal so I can be sure & check back. |
Well, how about 8 p.m.? I'm leaving in the morning for vacation and I imagine that I should start packing by 8 tonight, lol. |
Beaureguard's Mom wrote: I voted OWEN, but just because I like the sound of it.
Me too! I like Morty too but Owen is my favorite. |
I like Justin because I dont think I ever met a dog named Justin!! |
I just started watching the British sitcom Spaced, and their little dog is named Colin. So I'm going with that. |
Where's "Ronny"??? |
ButtersStotch wrote: Well, how about 8 p.m.? I'm leaving in the morning for vacation and I imagine that I should start packing by 8 tonight, lol.
Ha! you must be alot more organized than me! I'd be setting the alarm for 4AM & packing then! Keeping with the thread....I know & I'm not telling! Other than it is the same name as my college roommate's brother! |

Ooooh, I love Simon Pegg. I keep meaning to pick up those DVDs. Is it good? |
I like Thorton....oh, sorry not part of the game. |
I think it has to be either Newman or Morty.....I voted Newman. Can't wait to find out! |

I keep meaning to pick up those DVDs. Is it good? Lots of Sci Fi (specifically Star Wars) and comic book in jokes, so we're really enjoying it! We're also big fans of Simon Peg and crew; Adam and I went as Shawn and Ed for Halloween last year. |
I think I did a great job with the choices that I put down so it wasn't too obvious. Actually, those are ALL names I considered but the final decision is............................................................................................................
OWEN! James and I were trying to come up with something early on and we were trying to think of things that went with Clyde. I had planned to name Clyde "Clive" but he ended up being a Clyde instead. James thought about that and we both really like Clive Owen, the actor, (our favorites of his are the BMW films and Sin City) so, as I'm thinking about all these other names, James just blurts out, "How about Owen?" It was his first and only suggestion and it stuck immediately. We tried other names out but we just kept going back to Owen. So, barring some major event, Owen it is! |
I think of Danny Devito in "Throw Momma from the Train" when I think of anyone shouting the name Owen.
Will you be yelling after him in the back yard? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdgwR5gAR6I&fmt=18 |

Good plan! That's why Chewie is Chewie, instead of Coach (his puppy name) All dog names get "test called" at our house. And, I did pick OWEN too - I did the "what goes good with Clyde?" question, and it was definitely Owen. |
Love the name OWEN Good name to yell out in the yard too without sounding dorky or silly.
I had a friend that had a min poodle called "Chainsaw" and when the name was called out and the dog came, you would of expected a large rottie, mastiff or something along those types of breeds, fits of laughter at the Fou Fou Puff Ball that came running over. That name never suited that dog. So no changing your mind now, OWEN is so cute and sheepie. |
Owen!!!!!!!!!
Very cute... I named my Wheaten Terrier Pooh and how awful to stand inm the yard yelling "POOH" |
Owen is a lovely name
When I was little, mum let me and my brothers choose a name for our cat - we decided that 'Mystic-Magic-Chockie-Wockie-Woo' was appropriate. Thankfully mum muffled us all and named him Merlin |
he will always be morty tp me |
Owen is a cute name. I know someone who recently named their newborn son Owen.
Best of luck with Owen! |

Her newest cat's name is Finders Keepers because she-- you guessed it-- found her and decided to keep her. |
Owen is good we named our 1st GSD Hitchhiker because we found him on the side of the highway along with his 3 siblings. We were able to find the owners and they in appreciation asked us if we would like one of the puppies so we picked Hitch and a love affair began |
Good story I heard at a dog show years ago! There was this handler we knew that was handling an afghan named Fantasy for a client. One morning she heard the dogs carrying on out in the yard & went to check what was going on. Here Fantasy had jumped the 4" fence & was headed down the street of the neighborhood at an easy lope for an afghan! Pretty soon here is the handler, in her nightgown & robe, running down the street trying to get the dog's attention & hollering "Fantasy! Fantasy!" Granted she had no part in naming the dog but it sure makes you reconsider the call names you give your own dogs or even possibly giving a nickname to a dog you are handling! |
Similar Story: a Friend had a cat named Summer when she was growing up. Summer was an indoor cat, and right before New Years Summer got out and disappeared into the snowy woods behind their house. My friends Mom stood on their doorstep in nightgown and robe, facing the snowy terrain, and screamed "Summer! Summer!"
Not a joke. This actually happened! |
a friend had a black and white cat as a kid. The cat had a white face and black moustache, of course he named her Hitler. 40 years later he would chuckle about his university Dad and proper suburban mom out at all hours calling Hitler Hitler!! around the neighborhood. |
im very proud of myself for the ability to keep the big yap shut!!!
nothing sounds better than yellin..."OOOOOOOO-WEN!" |
Darcy wrote: im very proud of myself for the ability to keep the big yap shut!!!
nothing sounds better than yellin..."OOOOOOOO-WEN!" I think we all agree it sounds far more sane than shouting "Fantay", "Summer", or "Hitler". I was still hoping for Colin; wait til you see Spaced. |
Yay for Owen
Now which little guy is going to be Owen... |

I hate when things are obvious!!! I'm hitting myself because now that you explain the reasoning ...why didn't I figure that out!! |

Dog family #2....I tend to get dogs in clumps, not evenly spaced....were :
Abbott, Stella and Shane. I don't think I need to explain why we had such a good time calling our dogs, |
Yay! I'm glad you are using Owen. It's a great name for a sheepie and it goes perfectly with Clyde. |
