Moving

Hello everyone,I am posting to let all know I am moving to Wisconsin.Me and my boyfriend, and of course my daughter Samantha are all picking up and moving to Wi.Being from Florida originally we have no family here and we have been up here for 12yrs now,a very long time to be w/o family. So my bf has cousins and an Aunt and Uncle who live right outside Madison his uncle owns a construction company(my bf is a drywall taper)and is going to be giving him alot of work. And for me my best friend in the whole world is his cousin Tina, she has a son who is 9days older than Sam,and over the yrs we have gotten very close. So finally we willbe aorund lots of family. My 3boys(Jagger,Mickey,and Eddie)of course are excited I think they can tell something is up,but they arent exactly sure what.Tonight Mickey is getting a tubby tog et all ready for his ride, and Jagger is getting brushed out really good.So tomrrow the 3boys me,and Sam will be onour way to Wi.We have already got a house to rent,it is really nice 4bedrooms,2bathrooms,it has a sauna!!! :D ,and of course a fenced in yard for the boys.We will be living in a town called Stoughton Wi. it is about 20miles south of Madison. So I am really excited about getting the ride over it is about a 5hr drive.Which isnt too bad for Sam since we have a portable DVD player she can watch movies, and she also will have her dolly she loves,so she is all set.I told her mommy was going to watch a movie also while I drive..hehe!! She was like MOMMY!!!hehe!!So if there is anyone who is near Madison let me know, maybe you can give me the scoop on Wi.More than likely I wont be online for a couple of days, but lets face it this is my outlet to stress,so maybe I can sneak on Tinas computer. :D Karen,it was very nice meeting you and Mike and I wish you all the luck in the world. If you want any info on Mickey's breeder when your ready to adopt your OES let me know.
Take care all and God Bless.......Tanya and the boys

Congrats Tanya, you sound very happy about this move, and I know it is hard to be away from family, so that will be nice for you too.
Good luck! :)
I TOTALLY feel for you. I am sitting here in a pool of sweat and hating EVERY second of moving myself. I have to be out of here by the 30th, and I'm doing all the moving by myself. I've been sleeping on the floor for the past 2 wks and on my knees in front of the computer desk. I'm laughing on the outside, crying on the inside.

Just wanted to tell you that in this whole process ...if you want to scream, know I'm there with you. :D

Oh, and it's supposed to rain (tons of it) the day before, day of, and day after my move out date. YAY!!!

On a positive note, all this moving has to be burning some crazy calories.
Good luck with your move!

Be sure to come back and tell us all about it!
Good luck with the move. We moved twice in one week last Oct. Tried to buy a house after we moved in the deal fell through and had to move agian. (never move in till escrow is closed) And the dogs did great with both moves.

Tanya, best of luck for your move!! Sounds like the best of all possible worlds for you and your family, 2 legged and 4 legged! Now try not to go through withdrawal until you can visit the forum again!

Leah, best of luck to you, too! Are you staying within Texas or moving to where you'll be when your fiance gets home?
I'm moving a few hours away in my dear faithful Echo, Toyota. It'll be some trip since much of my space will be taken by furbabies 1 and 2. ;)

I can't leave them at my old place while I go back and forth b/c too many people will be coming in and out of the place to inspect and stuff ...and I trust no one. I'm a worrywart!!!

Poor Tanya has to have quadruple the amount of stuff though!!! (hugs)
Leah,Im so sorry your move is such a pain in your bum!!hehe!!Just think when it is all over you will be able to relax and enjoy your new home,Ill be thinking of you when Im in the middle of my move, its nice to know someone else is going through the He** im going through, talk about stress!!YIKES!!

To everyone else thanks so much for all your well wishes too me,its nice to know I have sympathy...LOL!! I will be sure to keep in touch, and let everyone know how the move is going.

Everyone have a wonderful evening sending love over your way...........
Hi Tanya,

It sounds like you're moving for all the right reasons! Whew! Still an ordeal to move however.., animals, child, more stuff, dog stuff, child's stuff...your stuff...umm lotsa stuff!

I hope you are very happy in your new place and please tell us all about it when you arrive. Best of luck to you!!

Marianne
GREAT! My maltese has the "doggie bug." I had to call my vet this morning at 4:30 a.m. because for an hour nonstop she was hurling up some stinky stinky stinky stuff. ....more than she eats. easily 4-6 cups of stuff (sorry for details) and she only eats less than 1/2 a cup a day. (sigh)

Of course she could be very nervous about the move/change ...but the vet thinks it's more likely a bug she caught while visiting her upright grandparents over Christmas. Gosh I hope she's okay on the drive down and back up to my place ......and again tomorrow and the day after.

She's going to the (whispers) V-E-T tomorrow.

I'm giving her a quarter of a benadryl pill (vet recommended). However, she said she'd much rather her inject a shot since a pill can cause a dog to "throw up." Plus, since she's allergic/sensitive to everything under the sun ....it wouldn't surprise me. There's no time though as we are pulling out of the driveway the second I hit submit to this post.
I hope your drive is going OK...
Tanya how exciting!

If you ever make it south accross the "Cheddar curtain" into northern Illinois, let me know! I'm just about 15 mintues from Kenosha!

Did I ever mention that I've been to Kenosha? Did I also mention that I had relatives in Libertyville?

Yes, I did. Well, I'm of a certain age where I start repeating myself.

Anyway, you never answered if you knew "Mars Cheese Castle (and Gallery of Art)" in Kenosha. It's right over the line on I-94. (Southbound, if I recall.... had to turn around to get there.)

It really is "and Gallery of Art". Look at the very very bottom of this picture. You really can't read it, but trust me! It says: "Gallery of Art"!

     Waaaah!!! My MN buddy is moving! sniffle sniffle!

Tanya- sorry, I just saw this post. Best of luck to you and everyone with the move! I really hope you enjoy your new home in WI- which according to my grandmother is "God's Country" (I personally think everywhere is God's Country, but it's not nice to argue with your grandma)We are looking in WI- but it'd be the MN/WI border area. In fact- Monday we're going to meet with the mortgage banker. Hope your move goes smoothly!

Leah! good luck with your move- done that twice already under the same sorts of circumstances, (even more fun in -20 windchill with ice and snow on the ground!) and the more stuff you have, the more work it ends up being... sigh!

Good luck everyone! Man, it's getting lonely up here...

Karen :)
Yes, yes, yes!!! We did talk about this....(I forget stuff too).

I've driven by Mars many times and have even bought cheese there. If you ever need cheese sent...let me know. We also talked about the Brat Stop.

I'm in Gurnee, home of Great America and Gurnee Mills...boy that sounds so tacky! And Libertyville is a stone's throw from here.

Come visit your relatives and we can have brats and brews...and talk "sheepie".
Moving!! I hate it! Every time I say this is the last time. Next move will be horizontal out of here! Moving!! Ugh! I'd rather eat a dirt sandwich!!
Tanya,

I can imagine how stressed you must be during moving. I have moved so many times I have lost count. It is nice that you and Sam will be surrounded by family after the move. I moved back to my home state when I got older, and after 8 years of living 1500 miles from my mom and stepdad they moved back to Oklahoma and it is nice to have all the family under one state now.
CJ's grandma just moved back to her home state of WI 2 years ago to live with her daughters. They live in New Berlin, WI. We keep planning on a trip up to see her, but never seem to have the time to get up there.
Good luck on your move and keep us posted.

Stormi and co.
Hey everyone!!
Well we are here and went to our new home today, and what a disappointment the place was just filthy!! So after speaking to the landlords they are bringing over a cleaning crew for tomrrow, also after walking aorund the front of the house it was just full of doggie poop!!! It is from the neighbors letting their BIG dogs poop in our yard, so me and my best friend went over and told thme they need to remove ALL dog crap from our yard.

She was like: "Oh I'm sorry. My boyfriend will do it when he gets home." Well I left my house around 6 and it didn't get done, so if it isn't done tomrrow I'm calling the police and get them involved. My landlords told me they had the same issue w/ them last year and had to call the police; they got a huge fine for it. There is a bright side of it all tho; I just love the house it has a very cool yard for the boys, and the house is really a neat home. Well its time to tuck the kids in.

Thanks so much for all your wonderful words to me, sounds like Im not alone w/ moving being a huge pain in the [neck].

I'll keep everyone psoted!!
Tanya and the boys
Tanya,
Glad to hear you made it there and that you like the house. Now comes the fun part of unpacking... YUCK!!!
I wish you the best of luck in your new home. 3 1/2 yrs ago I moved from NY to CA to be near family. Most recently in June to the house my husband and I purchased 100 miles away from where we were renting. I refuse to move again... It was such a nightmare and I still have two huge boxes that I can't unpack because there is no room. Fun!!!
Elissa
Welcome to your new home, Tanya.

Madison is really cool place! Enjoy!

Deborah

Hi Tanya! so sorry to hear about your illness! Bronchitis- ishy! Other than that- I'm glad your enjoying WI! Mike and I have put the house on hold, until we can save up a deposit, sigh... Looks like no pup till autumn

Karen :)
Sorry to hear you have been sick, glad Sam is ok though. Brochitis is tough, take it easy on yourself! :)
Hi Tanya,
Boy can I sympathize with you. I just got over having bronchitis for two months. Not fun at all. Glad to hear you are settled in.
I'm doing ok... I feel like I am going to pop at any day. The doctor said I could go at any time now. I'm about 3 centimeters dialated.
Wish me luck!!
Hope you feel better soon.
Elissa

Best of luck!!!!!
Oh my... must take pics Pepsi's Mommy!!! I am so thrilled for you. Please post updates as soon as possible. I'm sure that's what women think of the second they give birth ....um, let me get on my computer and post about it. hehehe ;)
Hi Tanya,
I am having a girl!!! As for Natural Childbirth.....GIVE ME DRUGS!!!
I had an epidural with Ryan and it didn't work. Hopefully this time it will.
With my Fibromyalgia (Chronic Pain Disorder) I will need the drugs and probably a lot of them.
We decided on the name Hayley...but I am not sure of the spelling yet.
We have also considered Hailey & Haley. I can't decide!!!!
Jo,
My family will be driving me nuts for pictures. I already have a website set up and ready to go and the digital camera will be at the hospital with me. So the pictures will probably be up as soon as I get home.
There is an ultrasound pic if you want to take a look. http://www.freegifts4kids.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=baby.detail&babyID=1964
She had her hand to her forehead. My son was making a ton of noise during the ultrasound... So already she's a little drama queen.

Elissa
That's so good to know. I LOVE, I LOVE hearing about babies. I want one of those too, but with this... I have to wait until I'm married.

I love YOUR name, btw.

The ultrasound has me all sappy because I think the whole miracle of birth is amazing.

BTW, HALEY, HALEY, H-A-L-E-Y *my vote* ;) ;)
Thanks Jo!
I appreciate your input on the spelling of the baby's name :D
I really like the spelling H-a-l-e-y too. I am just worried people will mispronounce it. Calling her Halle like Halle Berry.
With my name...People always have mispronouced it calling me Alyssa my whole life and it's pronounced A-Lisa
But my parents decided to go with the spelling they liked, instead of one that people would be able to pronounce correctly.
Oh well. I tell people now it's like Mona Lisa...just drop off the Mon... They usually remember that.. :)
Elissa
LOL!!wanna talk about mispronouncing names??My name is Tanya not Tonya you say it like this Tan ya.My whole life people say Tonya.I remember as a kid me just answering to Tonya but I hated it,so now Im very quick to correct them!!!

So Elissa a girl eh???Will if you need any tips on girls you can come to me I have the biggest girly girl there is!! Id say go for the drugs also!!I had my oldest totally natural no drugs of any kind and let me tell you OOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!I was only 17 when I had her but the pain was very real 8O .Im hoping everything goes well in which Im sure it will, and get ALOT of rest before the big day,Ill be here waiting for you to see pics of your little miracle.
Tanya,
If you were really good at multi-tasking you'd have been poking around about jobs when you were at the ER!
With the nursing shortage that seems to be everywhere, you shouldn't have much of a problem. In this area they are offering $5,000 sign on bonuses and that's just for part timers! I think that you had said that you were in nursing home work, one of the homes here is offering $10,000 bonuses. Not sure of the particulars, probably RNs and shift work...
Good luck!!
