For his birthday, we had "turkey loaf with cream cheese frosting" birthday cake. He got an IQube for his gift. He can't figure out the balls yet, but loves to carry the whole IQube around in his mouth. (He's really is precious!) He also got a "hula monkey girl" squeakie toy. All in all, I'd say he had a great birthday! Deborah |

Happy Birthday Pirate! Hope you are enjoying your IQube!

Happy Birthday Pirate!!! |
How cool to have a birthday on Christmas!!!
This is just info, but have you ever heard that turkey is bad for dogs? I've heard of a lot of dogs getting sick from it. I just always try to get the word out even if in the past they have received little portions of it. Quote: I was just reading a site that has a list of poisonous food for dogs. It says that turkey skin is currently thought to cause acute pancreatis in dogs. I was giving Kai some of the leftover meat from the turkey carcass before I threw it out. I am hoping that he didn't get any of the skin. Here I thought I was giving him a treat. I really need to be more careful! http://www.terrificpets.com/forum/12012.asp from another site: Quote: I was firmly told by my Vet that I was not to give Puff turkey from the table. According to him there may be a chemical in it that's bad for dogs and there's no way of knowing which brand contains this chemical so it's better to be safe than sorry. He told me he had over 25 dogs who were suffering from stomach problems after one Thanksgiving so he decided to tell everyone to stay away from turkey completely. |
Wow! I didn't know that!!! I used ground turkey (all white, very low fat and NO skin.) Geez...now I feel so guilty Deborah |
Well it seems to be the fat and skin, so it sounds like it went all okay!!!
I didn't know either until someone told me a few years ago. Well duhhh! I always try to spread the word around the holidays now. Most people in my neighborhood don't even know chocolate is bad (like my dad). They have the belief that if they gave it to their dog a few times and they didn't have any bad reactions to it, ...it's okay. :/ |
Happy Birthday Pirate,
You sure are one handsome dude! I'm sure you're getting double the gifts and well wishes since you were privilaged to be born on the most famous day of the year! Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas! Caullet and Abby Sugartown, LA |
Joahaeyo, I'm not sure where you got your info, but I thought I should post that it is completely incorrect.
Turkey is NOT bad for dogs, in any way, the skin, the fat or the meat, or any other part for that matter. It is actually very good for them, and some dog foods have it as the first ingredient. Any warnings you may have come across may have been mislead people, or people who had been told to stop giving turkey by their vets because some people may have given it to them on the bone, which of course being a bird, splinters and is very dangerous. |
Happy Birthday, Pirate!
So glad to hear you had a great day! Stormi and co. |
Happy belated birthday, Pirate! A Christmas birthday - how cool! Now you can get 2 presents instead of one! |
happy belated birthday pirate!! |
Happy Belated Birthday Little 1/2 Bro! Sorry we missed it- my family took me away for a visit to my Nanna and Pa's house for Christmas. Sleeping in a new place was really scary and I wouldn't get in my crate, but they had carpeting, so running around like a wild hooligan with the kids was really fun and I didn't wipe out even once! I peed on the rug in the basement but everybody still loved me! Happy Birthday Pirate!!! Chelsea |
Oh how rude of me!! I swore I posted Birthday greetings to Pirate and realized I hadn't.
Pirate happy birthday!!!! You're such a handsome boy and I'm always looking forward to hearing stories about you. No doubt your mama spoiled you like you deserved it! Happy belated Birthday from Marianne and the boys!! |
