With a tender tummy and a limited diet I sure wouldn't try to be making him cakes.....unless you have a meat market in your area that sells venison, frozen. You could make your own venison meatloaf and frost it with whipped potatoes, minus any milk.....maybe just vegetable broth for a liquid.
Most doggie cakes use various vegetables, applesauce, wheat flour or oat flour, things he may not be able to handle. Don't risk a belly blast just for his birthday. Instead celebrate with a special field trip. |

I always try to do what is best for him, but I saw Harry's cute b-day cake (SheepieMommy) and I wanted to do the same for my guy - Instead of a treat, Winston and I will go to his favorite park. Thank you for your suggestions. |
Try grinding some of his dry food to make your own flour. add whatever liquid he can have like beef broth, tomato juice, or even just water. Chop up some venison treats (Natures Recipe makes some) and use a small cookie scoop to make cookies. |

Wow! Thank you so much! I have given up hope coming up with something - but I think your idea would work! I will work on them in the morning-! Would you do a 350 degree oven? |
Sorry to be so late in replying . Yes, 350 is what I would use. Can he have any type of canned food? If so. mix a can with some of the ground dry kibble, make smallish size balls, and bake. It's still his regular food but with a different texture and form. Happy Birthday Winston |
well you could use potato flour since that is in his food. I use tapioca flour for Laika's homemade cookies. |
