I didn't do so because I wasn't sure, but I just seem to recall this from older discussions. |

I have heard that is true, I have also heard that they have been accussed of actually killing animals to further a case or prove a point. |

. What do you mean by this? That the court has found that there has not been abuse or that society in general would not consider the act abuse? |
Either way, can we as a group oppose this? There is strenght in numbers.
I think this is a fight worth fighting, esp. since we have a post of a recent sheepy reportedly taken. |

What's the difference between the people, society in general and the courts since the laws are representative of the people? Why is the exact definition important? I am referring to organizations that believe that "a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy", so that drug testing on a rat is the moral equivalent of drug testing on a boy and should be stopped in all cases. I am referring to organizations that believe that domestication of animals is wrong and that nobody should own any animals as pets. Unless I'm mistaken, which is always quite possible! |
I was just talking about this earlier on the phone...
Not the same circumstance but, reluctance for animal rights activist groups to help!(hope I don't tick anybody off) Five years ago I was trying to rescue a little girl Cricket from a shelter, she had kennel cough there. Not a big deal.. We had arranged through another rescue group to pick up, I would name if I had permission but, they were great! I called the shelter for everyday of the five days before pickup. We had arranged to have her on antibiotics for her cough and they knew we were coming to pick her up! On the day before I got a call that she had been adopted.... OKAY...she found a home, great! Then, I started to think I really wanted to adopt her(we were not doing rescue at the time) I called back and true story being they "accidentally" put her to sleep. I called and emailed so many animal rights groups and nobody would touch it! This baby had a home and they put her to sleep because, of kennel cough! I know shelters are overwhelmed and I would even have been a little more understanding had the shelter not lied! Again I hope my vent doesn't tick anybody off but, sometimes you must vent! |
