I've also read in the forum and from our vet that the Interceptor should help keep these from reoccurring in the the future. My questions - any suggestions on the poop eating (his and other dogs); what else can be done to prevent them in the future. Thanks much. Ann |

Clyde was a poop eater and just once got whipworms. He went on interceptor and did very well. |
Ugh! Whipworms!!! Nasty things... and tough to get rid of, especially with a dog that keeps "recycling" them.
We've found that adding pineapple to dog food helps. Add a few tablespoons daily. Also heard that canned pumpkin works, too. Wild Angel had some problems with this and used a product called "S.E.P." (Stop Eating Poop) made by Solid Gold. Any pet supply store that sells Solid Gold brand dog food should have this or it's available online. It's a powder that sprinkles on the food. Good luck with Ralph's nasty little habit. Once that's under control, you shouldn't have to worry about those whipworms. |
The only thing worse than whipworms in an OES is whipworms in a Komondor... in a crate... who spun his tail around many times. 3 hours cleaning him and another 2 hours cleaning the crate, the walls and the ceiling.
Regular heartworm preventatives usually keep those little annoying poop worms away. Do you have him on a monthly? |
