ive been ignoring my work now for 17 yrs.... |
I've been pretty happy with my job for almost the whole 7 years I've had it. I think it makes a huge difference in the kind of job you do and how much you like who you work with. My job is different every day and I have the ability to change what I'm doing and how I'm doing it. I have nearly 100% creative control so it makes it easier not to hate it. My boss and I ended up becoming very close friends so it's a very comfortable work environment. We work well and effectively together.
That being said, I still find myself zoning out a lot, lol. Some days are just like that, where you don't feel like thinking really hard. |
I seemed to be able to focus all the time on my job no matter what was going on in my life but then I liked it (an accounting service so there was always different BS, P&L, taxes, etc) and I retired 3 times before it stuck |
4 years seems to be my cut off point, but I have not had a job I enjoy yet. |
So far my attention span is 28 years.
Not that my job is ideal (are any of them ever?). But decent paying jobs are not too plentiful in my neck of the woods and it was a great place to work while my kids were growing up. It's a big corporation, so that's probably why it gave me the flexibility I needed when they were sick or had stuff at school, or whatever. So although the job itself may not have been ideal for all those years, it let me focus on what was my top priority - my family. |
as long as I have a challenge. I lost that edge about 6-8 months ago which is why I am looking ofr a new job. |
