2 portobella mushrooms , cleaned, stems removed 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce 2 large slices Swiss cheese 2 large slices of sourdough bread 2 lettuce leaves 2 large tomato slices 2 thin onion slices Garlic Mayonnaise: 1 tablespoon mayonnaise 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic 1 teaspoon lemon juice a few drops Worcestershire sauce Salt and pepper Preparation : Spread the teriyaki sauce over the mushrooms and marinate while the grill heats. Grill the mushrooms about 6 inches from the heat until tender ( about 5 minutes) You may grill the onion slices at the same time . Add the cheese on top and grill until cheese melts When assembling make sure the lettuce is on the bottom slice of bread then place mushroom on top. This keeps the mushroom juices from making the bread soggy ! |
