Water connoisseurs
Apparently the water in the bowl in the kitchen isn’t as good as the water in the bathroom or the water outside on the patio. I’ve determined this because Mopsy would walk all the way down the hall to go to get a drink out of her dish in the bathroom even though the kitchen is closer. Or she would ask to go outside just to get a drink out of the bowl that sat on the patio – which by the way was warm and usually had debris floating in it. Now Harry who never lived in the house with Mopsy does the same nonsense. Both the dish in the kitchen and the one outside are metal so you can’t say it is the bowl (the one in the bathroom is ceramic). And it is not like they never drank the water in the kitchen - it is just not their preference. I just find this odd that they both did it. And rather ridiculous too.  |

| I actually have a theory, too: dogs are CRAZY. They do nutty things with no explanation. Bear gets nuttier by the day. To walk from our dining room to our living room (which is one big open space), he MUST go under the dining room table to the other side, cut diagonally through the archway, walk around the coffee table to settle right back in the archway. If you get in his way or his path is blocked, he does this high pitched bark and sometimes whimpers. A few times he's even reared up horse-style he was so upset.
However, sometimes (I'd say about 25% of the time) that his ritual occurs, during the dart from the dining room table to the archway, he spins around and proceeds to walk backwards all the way into the living room to the coffee table. It's a good eight feet of backwards walking. Usually we make the truck backing up sound, like "BEEP BEEP!" Total insano. |

| I quit trying to diagnose, just gently change them or they gently change me, it's 50:50. Mo must go outside at 6 pm and drink from the northside tub. No pee, no poop, just a drink. If we ignore her she stands and looks at us for hours, Of course she's standing quite near the inside bowls with fresh water...........hrumph. |
| I think tap water must smell funny to them, I have to make sure there are no pots or trays accessible in our garden otherwise Archie is straight there complete with a face of algae and leaves etc.
We actually use the filtered water dispenser on our fridge to fill bottles then leave it to get to room temperature and fill Archies bowl from them, he seems to prefer it to the water straight from the tap, I might add though that we are in a hard water area. |
| SamSun HAS to have ice cubes in his water bowl. He refuses to drink it otherwise. I'm really not sure how he got so spoiled! |
