Does the couch count? |
No, it has to be their own chair |

What if it is NOT their chair but they THINK it is? If I move out of the recliner for one second I turn around and Harry is sitting in it. |
That's impossible in a busy house. Everyone wants the chair someone else is sitting in as if it's better than the spot they have! |
We all share in our house! |
Yes, MO has the club chair, Jack and Harry have the couch. Paul and I each have our own chairs. Glacier often uses the foot stool to the club chair. Cozy little family. |
Before we moved, the dogs had a chair at the front window. Usually China sat on the back like a cat and Violet sat in the seat....no room for Asia and I don't think she ever sat in that chair anyway. When we moved, the "doggie" chair became a casualty of the move....it was moved out to the street for the garbage people to pickup.
They don't seem to miss their chair to much. There are no windows that look out on the street now, so no way to watch anyone walking by. I'm sure your sheepie would enjoy his own chair...of course he will sit where ever he wants anyway. |
Sheepies are not allowed on the furniture in our house. Boy, am I a meanie, or what? It's only because I saw the damage a 110 lb sheepie did to my SIL's couch and bed that I never allowed neither Quincy nor Oscar on ours.
Pack dynamics never concerned me, because, as pack leaders, we ALLOW them on the furniture, or tell them "OFF" when we want them down. As long as the dog is playing by the "house rules", I don't see an issue with letting them on the furniture. Laurie and Oscar, the poor mistreated puppy with the mean, mean mommy |

Same here. We catch him on the sofa sometimes and throw him off straight away. I like the idea of him having his own chair though. |
The day we moved in to our current home, ThePas (then about a year old) jumped into this old, yucky chair that the previous owners left behind. (We didn't complain too much about the leftovers, as this house had significantly more rooms than our previous 800 square footer, and they offered.) Anyway, hideous as it is/was (no back feet, very old and worn...) we couldn't part with it once he moved in. And, the way it was placed (and yes, we then placed our own furniture around it) he could watch the front door, the dining room, and most of the rest of the main floor from that spot. It became known as the Theeperchair.
He would share it of course, but sometimes he'd walk up and stare at you oddly, as if to say, "Hey, just remember, it's a loan." Now that he's gone I really can't imagine ever giving it up. Sometimes I sit in it, breathe deeply (I swear I can still feel him there) and sob uncontrollably. It's the chair in the picture for my avatar. Now I'm sure that, had I given him a chair, he would have had no interest whatsoever, but this chair was perfect for him. He just fit, and the angle allowed him to slide his bum down the back as he sat(a real plus with his bad knees), and was just right to walk out of, sliding his back end along (also a knee thing) until his legs were ready to hit the floor. It was meant to be. |
No!
Really. Chewie has never liked any furniture. The dogs are definitely allowed, but he chooses not to. 1st choice is the cement porch floor in front of the door. 2nd favorite is the linoleum floor in the bathroom (after he shoves both rugs out of the way, of course!) When we were at our motel room in St Louis for Sheepiepalooza, he never left the 4 foot square of tile right inside the door. Four reasons: 1. cool tile 2. in front of the door 3. right next to window to be on patrol 4. the AC was below the window |
Dutch thinks she should sit on my lap in whatever chair I'm sitting in |
Ollie is not allowed on the sofas or allowed in the bedrooms,
(but i know what happens when we are out ) But we did buy him a nice big squishy bed, which he only sleeps on when he's been to the hairdressers, i think the lack of hair makes the floor a little hard to sleep on Or when he has been naughty he gets sent to bed (that lasts all of 10 seconds) then he will sloooowly sneak back in the sitting room, and lay down by the coffee table, on the corner of the rug thinking if i lay down here she wont notice me |
I would like a chair for Archie, but I would probably end up having to getting three as the cats would turf him off! |
Can the couch count if one treats it like a chair?

Genevieve has a favorite chair. You may sit it in if you wish, but as Jil learned first hand, you must be prepared to share it with her.
|
Bailey is definitely not allowed on the two new couches. She is allowed on only two peices of furniture. She can share my chair when I am in it. And can visit my bed for "goodnights" before we go to sleep. Other than that she has no interest in the furniture. She sleeps most often in her crate that we keep in the living room and is her "den". She like the cool plastic floor better then the bed we put in it for her.
So perhaps the question is... does the sheepie want a chair? You might set her up something and never see it used! Dave |
Well, he is always trying to get on the sofa but he's not allowed. I think he would love a chair by the window. |
When I brought Misty home the first thing Linda done was lift her onto the couch beside her, since then that is her place and wow betide if anyone dares park their butt there. The other two just lie on the floor and only occasionly come up to get petted. |
