| Has he been vomiting? Sometimes they burst a blood vessel in their throat and you get specks of bright red blood. Let us know how you get on with the vet. |

| oh my by the time i got him to the vet his right side of his mouth was a football hard like a rock and his right eye was red and completely shut and sollen.. and foaming at the mouth.. ok no i just lost 3 in 2 months so i was yelling for help ..he couldn't even walk
they put him on iv right away quick thinking gave him 2 shots one cordozin one benedryl.. and fluids .. his temp spiked up .. the vet and i sat with him to see and the shots calmed all down , they think he got a bite of some sort they are hoping it was not a recluse spider and more in line of a bee bite or snake .. so then we gave him a good bath, he was in my lake yesterday and his hives were ripping him up.. poor guy right now he is resting and his right eye is opening slowly good sign.. but we need to watch his mouth closely.. ok is it martini time yet.. thanks all will keep you posted |
Wow!  All those symptoms seemed to come on to him pretty quickly - yikes!  When you bathed him, did you find any bite or sting marks? OMG, I just can't imagine what you're going through. Thoughts and prayers are with you as Duffy heals.  |

I am so sorry that you and Duffy are going through this. Just what you needed, right?  We are hoping that Duffy heals quickly, and that this is the end of all of the rotten things that have happened to you recently. You deserve a break.

| well i learn my lesson i put duff in bed with me last nite to keep an eye on him well he threw up twice not too much blood but some hard pieces like rawhide but all i give him days ago was a pigs ear .. hum he seems tired this moring duh so am i .. i hope he is ok i have only fed him chicken and rice his face and mouth are ok thank god for that but i am not liking the throwing up |
| I just saw this thread, I'm so sorry you are going through this.
Pig's ears and rawhide bones, things we gave our dogs years ago without any problems, are on my list of things to avoid just because Ben would have problems with them.
Here's hoping Duffy managed to get it all up and now feels better. |
| woke up this morning he has his hives back and his eye is starting to swell gave him 2 benadryl if that doesn't work need to get him to emergy

| well duffy still has hives so they had to put him on predizone for 2 weeks i feel so bad for this little guy he can't stop scratcing i hope it is just not allergys,, too many of my sheepies have had them i think i need to move from fla up north |

| he is now on predzone since his eye swelled up again with hives they are not sure what bite him ,, but just found out a dog down the rd has the same thing happening to him.. too weird |

| duffy is still on pedizone so i am easing back well this morning he had hives on his chest again when i took a closer look i found 2 feas/ he is on sentiel and advantage yecks i never had fleas on anyof my dogs.. ever,, now i have been spraying the yard home me and him.. i guess he must be allergic to them , but it is better then a food allergy .. |
| Keep your chin up, it'll probably help Duffy if you can be seen to be strong.
Having had Hives myself I know how bad it can be (I wanted to take a cheese grater to myself). Has he stopped throwing up? You don't have any Poison Ivy in your area do you? |
| he stopped throwing up and yes i have poison ivy on my leg right now it is killing me.. but i don't think you can get through that heavy puppy coat |
| I'm glad Duffy is on the mend. Hmmmmm...poison ivy.......since it is spread by the oil on the leaves, it might just have worked it's way down to Duffy's skin. Might be worth checking into.
