Could you check with friends, family, neighbors, or colleagues to see if any are travelling from West to East. We are looking for anyone who is driving from or through Minneapolis area to the East OR anyone who is taking a flight from or through Minneapolis to the East. It is easier and more economical to fly a dog who "belongs" to a passenger rather than shipping an unaccompanied dog as cargo. Rescue at the Minneapolis end will get the dog crated and to the airport and Rescue at the East coast end will pick up the boy at the East coast end. We have also tried or are trying the following options: Rescue railroad -- series of volunteers who drive in 100 mi. increments like a relay race (that's a lot of volunteer drivers and transfers) Truck-N-Paws -- series of volunteers driving a "leg" of the dog's journey Operation Roger -- a wonderful group of truckers that transport individual rescue dogs in the living quarters of their big rigs Sky Ark -- uses planes PetFinder Transport -- uses Animal Rescue Flights (though am having difficulty posting to that message board) Please reply to me directly if you can offer transport assistance. Reply to fbatchelor@earthlink.net Thanks a lot. Fritzi |

Hiya Fritzi,
Have you tried http://www.acmepettransport.com/ ? I don't know much about them. |
Hi,
I just sent you a PM. I am more than willing to help, if time is not of the essence. I would be able to get him the weekend of 29JUl. Hope I can be of assistance. Kathie |
Thanks so much for those of you who replied! Of course, within an hour of sending the email, I heard from a trucker who is with Operation Roger, and she will pick the dog up in Rogers MN and bring him with her to CT. She drives ice cream to Boston.

YIPPPPEEE!!
Glad the boy has found a ride to his furever! Happy travels!~ |
She drives ice cream?? Can I come along too? I'm sure all the cases need to be checked |
Lucky dog! |
Glad he found a ride.
We just drove from MN to NY and Cape Cod in mid-May! |
Watch out for an upset tummy! |
Mulligan wants to know if the ice cream celebration will continue once your lucky dog is delivered safe & sound? He is willing to hoof it to CT to help with the acclimation to the new surroundings (and taste-test the assorted flavors, of course!)
Operation Roger sounds like a terrific organization. Good luck to all! |
Okay - what ice cream aren't we buying next week because it will have been dog tested? |
Lucky trucker--a truck full of ice cream AND a sheepie!!!!! Bless her for helping rescue and getting this baby to his furever. |
