Because we owe the Humane Society quite a bit for its patience in her training and even for letting me adopt her, when its "Home for the Holidays" program was announced ( a program that lets donors pay part of the adoption fee for selected dogs and cats during the holidays), we made a donation in honor of Q and even prepared a gift bag of treats, toys, and a gift card for the dog. Yesterday, we received a note that Q's dog, Blue, had been adopted. From the picture that came with the letter, Blue does appear to be almost blue - a setter/cowdog sort of mix I'd guess. We hope that his new home is a good one and a forever one and that he, and all of you as well, will have a happy and peaceful holiday. Karen & Quiuburis |

Yay Q! Go Quiburis, Go Quiburis, Go, Go, Go Quiburis! (Mommy, too! )
Best yet, what a LOVELY way to show you care for the holidays! What a great idea! Does anyone else's local shelter have a similar program? |
What a wonderful story!! Thanks for posting this as it definately is one that warms the heart at Christmas time.
I must have missed your original post as I was offline for a few months. Quiburis is a beautiful looking girl and it sounds like she's very happy in her forever home. Tell me how she got her name? Did you choose it and is there a meaning behind it. Inquiring minds want to know!! :O) Looking forward to more of her adventures and antics - keep us posted...umm or keep posting I mean! What a great story! I'm so glad things are working out! It takes a lot of dedication, hats off to you and Quiburis! |
Our local shelter has a program called the Guardian Angel. (I think that's the name.) You can donate money on specific dogs and cats or just in general. It allows for the adoption fee on less adoptable (perhaps cute?) animals but the shelter still gets the much needed funds. |
