Thank you for sharing this site and the info. |
You're welcome!
Personally, I think the advice to check to see if there is a vet tech or someone who stays with surgical patients left over night in a clinic is excellent. A friend of mine had her scotty neutered and the vet insisted that it stay overnight. No staff was on-hand during the night and there was a violent thunderstorm (her dog, goes wild over loud sounds) and tore out all the stitches and was a mess the next day. |
Thanks for the information. My first OES became very ill and was hospilized the vet had round the clock nursing care for him. |
What a great link.
I tell my husband this crap all the time and he says "no, they wouldn't do that," so I will gladly shove this in his face when he gets home. |
Doing a little bit of homework for our dogs can make a huge difference in their health. |
Sometimes I wonder why people do so much for their dogs and will preach on and on about what's right for dogs (breeding, health, nutrition) yet think nothing that they have an overweight dog and feed their dog fatty human foods regularly [including things that aren't so obvious like seasoned buns and pizza crusts, etc] increasing their likelihood of pancreatitis. I think preventing someone OTHER than yourself from being overweight when you control their food intake and exercise is the easiest thing. Anyway, this has always confused me about several dogs and owners I know in real life including my sil. Makes it hard to keep my mouth shut when she wonders why her dog most likely got sick with pancreatitis (knowing how her dogs always got a little of this, little of that, etc, etc ...which when I viewed it was a lot of this, a lot of that). |
