The Baby Bunnies are alive!!!

Some of you may remember last week I was quite despondant when someone showed up at my door with a bunny. Although she was the previous owner she was going to turn it loose. It's littermate was not so fortunate and was hit by a car. The domestic bunny turned out to be lactating and although we (my small animal rescue group) searched the area for her babies - we were unsuccessful. We felt horrible.

A week later and the babies are only aprox 10 days to 3 wks old and yet are still alive. Some kind woman found them under her stairs and had been bottle feeding them. She found out about the cards regarding our bunny rescue I left last week in the neighorhood and called me.

Mom and babies are reunited!

Incredible, wonderful!
WOW... after a week. What a nice person to bottle feed them!!!

Happy Mom and Babies together again. :D
Wow - I am glad mom and babies are back together.
 Great, Marianne! I kept thinking about them, especially after seeing little Farah the fawn rescued at the stable. 8) Dare I ask if you have photos?
Wow, that is amazing. Do we get pictures? Sounds like you did a great job of getting the word out!
My friend Lisa, and I are still amazed at the fortitude and the will to survive of these little ones. It really is miraculous! I previously erred when mentioning their ages..said between 10 days and 3 wks when actually meant to say it was 10 days to 2 weeks. How the heck did they manage to survive without their mom for a week even with the assistance of that woman?

I did notice the little ones nursing on her tonight and they were really active in the morning and this evening.

I did post 2 pics but my camera is so bad. This is taken mins after I brought them home. Lisa and I then rearranged a proper nesting area for them and the mother.

They are smaller than the palm of my hand and I have kid sized hands.

They are so precious!!!

They are precious. I also think it's amazing that the lactating mom didn't "dry up" without any stim from the babies.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh, way too cute!!! :hearts:
They are so sweet. :hearts:
We have alot of brown bunnies with white tales all around us...they come out in the am early and pm in the meadow...what do they eat? My dog usually has fun chasing them back into the woods and I love it when she doesn't see them and they hide and watch her. They seem really big and healthy...do they just eat grass? We saw a bobcat in the same woods a few days ago with wild gold eyes...will they prey on the bunnies? I have been watching Rosie closer since seeing the bobcat but read they can roam 5 to 25 miles from their actual home...I am hoping he/she has returned home. The bunnies seem to be around as much as ever.
