Mariposa Farms or Maraposa Oaks? |
Mariposa owned by Kay Fletcher. That's how she spelled it. |
Yes, there are a few of us here.
I have three girls from Kaye and Fletcher... their pups were raised with a lot of love. I came across a few emails from back in August of 2004 where you, Lily and Gus were mentioned |
Yes
I have an absolutely wonderful sweet 3 yr old sheepie girl from Maraposa Oaks in Texas Beebles is from Kaye's Maraposa Oaks very last litter Her Papa is Kemo Sabe & Mama is Rosie Do you have a sheepie from Maraposa Oaks? Diane |
Yes, my Lily is from Maraposa Oaks........her mother is Rosie and her dad is Barney, father of Kemo. Lily is a pistol. She is having some growths on her skin and I was wondering if any other dogs from there are having anything like that.......she just had one removed and I am waiting on pathology for it. She is 6 now. |
Hi Roberta-
The only skin problems we've had are Darby's seasonal allergies and a couple of histiocytomas (non-cancerous). Emma had some small lumps removed last year... the vet had said they were too small to aspirate... they were simply cysts. The new vet in the practice easily aspirated another that appeared this year... sigh. Got a picture you can share? These are our sheepies from Kaye- http://oesusa.com/index.145.jpg Darby is on the left, Kaytee is sitting next to her and Emma is on the far right. Darby and Emma will be 5 years old on November 25th. Kaytee will be 4 years old on November 24th. Hoping that Lily's lumps are just fatty tumors or cysts. Please let us know the pathology results? |
Oh my gosh, Emma could be Lily's twin! How adorable are they? Who is Panda? That was my first sheepie's name! Where do you live in Michigan? I am going back to IL the first week in July. I do have photos of my kids, of course, but I haven't figured out how to upload them on this site yet. Do you clip them yourself? Some of them look blue-eyed. They are just precious. Thanks for the photo.
Lily has had a strange thing on her butt removed that was benign and the last one looked not good to me or the vet. It was near her shoulder and very "granulated", greyish and bleeding. Doc said it was either a mast cell (cancerous tumor) or nothing. So we are hoping for the latter. The good news is that mast cell is one of the most curable cancers. I will let you know when I hear from my vet, should be any day now. |
If you look at the palm of your right hand we're located at the top of you pinkie. Only one blue-eyed girl in the bunch... she has one blue eye... the other didn't function and has shrunk in size. All of my girls get home-haircuts... the poor things don't get to go to beauty parlors.
Diane and I were talking this morning... you both have one of Rosie's babies. We'd love to see pictures! If you visit this address it will tell you how to upload pictures- http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=1119 With 6 dogs, I need to photograph things so I don't have to rely on memory alone This is what one of Darby's histiocytomas looked like (sorry, it's gross) http://oesusa.com/DarbysFoot1-4-06.jpg Darby's was very itchy and wouldn't heal... both had to be surgically removed. And this is what one of Emma's cysts looked like. She had 5 of them removed... one was near her butt too. http://oesusa.com/Emma72207C.jpg It's hard to wait for these results to come back. Our fingers and paws are crossed that it'll be benign!! |
Hello, Does anyone know how I can contact Kaye Fletcher? My name is Susann and I have Emma, who is very very sick. I got her from Kaye in 2001. I have tried the emails listed on ebay, however they don't forward to anyone. Thank You, Susann |
I'm so sorry your baby is sick I'm contacting Laura to see if she can get in touch with Kaye for you. Please register in case Kaye can respond directly through OES.org. I'll let you know what I hear. |
Hey sweetie - it's Laura - can you email me at busytyping@yahoo.com or call me at 806-679-8161 (cell). Annie got the same little cysts, but they were just sebacious (sp?) cysts and they went away (after I had three moved at a small fortune I realized they would go away). |
I hope Susann's Emma will be ok. Thanks so much Laura. I didn't want to post your info publicly. I miss Kaye, you and the group SO much... I know others that do too. My Emma is doing fine... yup, just cysts. I now have a vet that can and will simply aspirate even the tiniest ones to verify it. I'm a little smarter now. Leave them alone and they'll go away. |
Kaye wanted me to let the group know that we lost Shug last night. She's been sick for a while, and she died in her sleep late last night. The end of an era - she was a grandmother to ALL of our dogs! Hugs from Annie and me in Amarillo - |
Thanks for letting us know, Laura. Diane emailed me about your post. Please send Kaye and Fletcher our condolences. Love- Emma, Darby & Kaytee Maraposa Sheepies |
Apparently there is someone who stops buy once in a while that is in contact with Kaye. If you hear from or see Kaye, please let her know that the community is sorry to learn of her loss. |
I am sorry about Shug...please pass on our condolences to Kaye. We had the pleasure of meeting Cagney one of her pups... He is living very large in Florida! |

Hey Laura, good to hear from you. Emma and Darby turned 9 and Kaytee turned 8 last November. They're all doing good. Below are pictures from this year. Diane and I keep in touch... BeeBs is doing well too. So proud of that team and their therapy work. Emma on the left and Kaytee playing with her brothers on the right. Darby in the top pictures and Emma and Darby in the bottom left. Kaye and Fletcher's babies have the very best temperaments. |
