She said she used only positive reinforcement to train the dog. She said the dog was completely untrained and it would act a lot like a puppy. Every time the dog did something good, like just sit in front of her, she would give it affection and the dog learned that in order to receive affection it had to be calm. She said she did not use the word no very often, only postive reinforcement. I think that the good that has come from the Michael Vick story is that people can see that if these dogs can be saved, any dog can be. If a dog who was trained to fight can be retrained to be a cancer therapy dog, any dog can be saved.
