Doggie doors

We found a storm door at Lowes that has a built in doggie door. Any of you have one or thoughts on them? Snow just loves to go in and out at her will. ( fenced yard ) anything bad about them?

Thanks, Deana

I've had mine for 4 yrs now and we LOVE it!
Our is not the one that is in the door, we cut a hole in the house. We have the Ultimate Pet Door from Petsafe and we love it.
We close it at night because Rags will go in and out a million times and the dog door is in our bedroom. But it's open all day for them to come and go as they please.

One of the permanent magnets fell out and they gave us a whole new door. 8)
I have the storm door with the doggie door on it, too. I like it because it gives us more control and security.
I LOVE them (MIL has one) and would get one if we didn't have cats!
I need one!! Jack has broken the latch on our storm door by constant body slams.........which has resulted in a one way doggie dog, he now easily gets out, but the coming back in requires scratching the door until Mom comes and gets him.

I guess I'm concerned with appearance as this is the front door for us.

There's a doggie door into the garage so they can escape storms when I'm not home.
Have one and loving it.
I have had "doggie" door since Violet came to live with us. I have the one you are talking about for the slidding door. We have that one from the kitchen into the Florida room. We also have a regular doggie door from the Florida room to the outside. All three dogs and the cat love it. It did not take long for Asia, my newest pup, to learn how to use them. The doors all come with sliddere to use in order to "lock up" also, which work great.
Good luck with your door selection,
i would love one, and in fact may be looking sooner rather than later with my schedule. At present i have a pet sitter to come once a day to let them out on my long school days.

but i am worried about a) the cat getting out and b) coyotes...........

:? :? what to do what to do????

They have the doors with sensor collars. The door can only open when the dog is at the door with the collar on.
but i don't keep collars on so coat doesn't break!!
