By Tuesday, the affected area had gotten quite a bit larger, so I drew lines for monitoring and went to the doctor. I also have one on my stomach with a line about 2.5 inches long, but it doesn't look nearly as cool. It's on the mend now, but thought we could add these pics to Ron's tick bite. |

Yikes Jennie. That is crazy looking with that line coming off of it. |
Oh my!
That looks very...interesting. Good thing you went to the doctor. What are they doing for treatment? |
I'd try to squeeze it. (That, of course, is my standard response.) |

He He He |
I did squeeze it initially, I thought it was a pimple .
I'm on 1500mg of Cephalexin a day for 10 days. Seems like a lot of meds, esp. I'm all of 115 pounds. Oops, guess I should have put "graphic" in the subject. Sorry to anyone who gets queezy! |
At least it was't a brown recluse spider bite!
The red line coming from the initial bite site is a classic sign of infection. Glad you went in to the doctor. |
Hi....I know it's been a few years, but how long did it take to go away? Also, what did it look like as it healed? I have a very similar bite and the same medication was prescribed to me. Thanks!! |
I have the same thing about a month and a half ago. I think it was a spider in a pair of pants that were hanging in the closet for a while. I put them on and several hours later noticed this pain and found a red mark and knot, much like yours. I didn't go to the doc and I'm still dealing with the knot on my leg and a wound that will not go away. it is getting smaller, but I've NEVER had anything take this long to heal. Ever. Vance |
Ant and spider bites............pits!! Love the two right angles, very unique. |
I had the same thing happen to me, however my bite was started on my right wrist and went all the way to my elbow and the line continued to up to my biceps. for a natural way to cur this, I mixed baking soda and water to create a paste. I then put the paste on the bite/line area and wrap it wit a paper towel or cloth secured by tape. Then let is sit for 45 minutes-1 to an hour and rinse with water. Do this every 3 hours or so. Mine went within two days after continuing this method. I hope this helps. |
