So I'm sitting at the kitchen table with heads in hand going, "What's for dinner?" when I hear an old train bell. The good cast clang, clang. OK, maybe someone put it up to call the kids in for dinner. No this one is getting closer and dogs are looking at me, "What the H...is that Mom?" I glance out the window in time to see and locomotive engine go down the street........huh? Bright yellow and orange with black smoke stack and an engineer in the cab behind the boiler. No, I'm not on meds beyond the usual. Five minutes later I hear it again, this time I grab the camera and rush to the door but am too late.......yes, it is a locomotive, on wheels, bell clanging and kids packed inside the engineer's booth. Husband comes in and I ask him if he saw it. He had. Apparently the Shriners in town have a converted trolly. Must have been some kid's birthday party. Phew! I thought I was loosing my mind. Now I know where it lives and I'll try to get a picture when I'm in that part of town. It is great! |
