Well her partner in crime didn't recognize her! They are always together I go into a room; both lay down together outside the door; very cute. Well when Tony (cat) saw her he arched his back and his tail went 4 times bigger. Took a day for them to get back to normal. Very funny! |

First time I had a sheepdog shaved I had the same reaction! "That's not my dog!!"
Must have been a mighty doggie shampoo to mask the natural dog scent from the others. Around here each new shaved dog gets a complete sniff over from the others even tho they have watched the entire process. I think it is partially the clipper oil still on the coat. |
I cannot stop looking at her it is so weird! and hugging her; she is like a lamb I call her lamb chop now she is soooo soft! Yeah Tony tried smelling her she was pretty strong from the shampoo. |
LOL - they look so incredibly different when they get shaved down, don't they? I tell everybody we had Lacy on the world's fastest diet - 35 pounds in 3 hours. |
If mine don't see me shaving down one. They will freak out when they do see the shaved dog. |
OMG, the first time I had a Tyler shaved was so funny.
The first OES I met in person was a sheepie named Chan, short for Charlie Chan, he lived in Ohio, I think I was at the house of the local Mary Kay Director or something like that, this is 25 years or more ago. She had him shaved down for the summer and he was a little over weight and so darn cute, I loved the shaved sheepie look. Her dog, Chan came over and not only leaned on me but sat on my feet. He fell for me instantly. I had always loved the idea of an OES, but once I had met Chan it was what I wanted for sure. Now some 12 years later I have adopted Tyler and it was summer and I thought Oh, I can get him shaved, he will look like Chan.... Oh, was I wrong. Tyler was tall and skinny, Chan was short and pudgy. I got to the groomer to pick him up and they trotted out this dog who looked like he came from a concentration camp or something, I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. I laughed until I realized his feelings were hurt. I will never get over seeing him for the first time shaved all the way down, and I also never took him down so far again, he was too skinny for the look. I don't think you ever get over your first sheepie, he still holds so much of my heart. |
