Quote: An Old English Sheepdog starts out his life as the runt of the litter at a puppy mill in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Abused, neglected, and left to die, Henley is finally rescued by a shelter worker and then adopted into a loving home. Written in the dog's voice it brings you closer to the situation from a perspective that needs to be heard. |

I think so. It is really a cute book and the author donates part of her proceeds to rescue
Found it http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=17308 |
What caught my eye this time was the description: "Puppy mill in Lancaster, PA"
grrrrrrr |
I have an autographed copy by the author He was rescued not bought. |
Oh don't get me wrong!
I didn't think the author bought him from a puppy mill!!! I was just mad at the whole concept of puppy mills in Lancaster. Where's Mandy to vent with me? |
Ron,
It was so nice to meet you and your lovely wife I am not far from lancaster and just don't get me started. I just wanted you to know she adopted him from the rescuer The whole book promotes adopting dogs and the proceeds (or most of them) go to OES and dog rescue. My daughter borrowed the book to read , when I get it back I can let you know specific rescues the proceeds go to. A friend got it for me and the author spelled my name wrong...it was the thought that counts!! |

I haven't been out to the mills for a while. Last time I went, most of the people had quit OES because they were too high maintenance. How old is Henley? Stupid mills! |
Oh, I love this book....
it was sent to me by the family that adopted Daphne from me last year. They live in the same small town in NJ as Henley! Maybe Daphne will be in the next book!! I just adopted out Herman who was from PA... not sure where but, he is a really sweet boy in a happy new home! |
