Today was warm and he got in the bath again, he was panting so I asked him if he would like some nice cold water to paddle in I put the plug in and turned on the cold tap, he stuck his nose under it and started drinking. He prefers drinking falling water for some reason. I put enough water in to almost cover his feet. For the next half hour he was splashing, 'digging' and blowing bubbles in the water He barely looked up so I went to do the ironing, listening to him splashing about. He wouldn't come out so in the end I had to empty the bath and lift him out myself. He had a blast and was really tired after all that fun |

Bless him! I think Ru needs his very own paddling pool! No pictures???? |
Oh bless him! Yesterday I put a big bowl of water in the garden for the dogs to play in....they had a drink of it...I splashed them...they walked off. Summer loves drinking water from the outside tap when I am filling bird baths etc up... |
My guess is the tub is cool - ours is anyway because it is enamel over metal.
You adding the water to cool off and play in was just an extra special treat! |
Yes, Ru needs his own kiddie pool (that's we call paddling pools here). And we need pics! |
That's awesome!! I would love some pics from next time!! |
Wow! I wish I could entertain mine that easily...And he cleans himself in the process. What a guy!!!!

that is so funny. I had an Irish Setter who I often found asleep in the tub. I worked midnights and I would come home and find him sound asleep in the tub, he liked water and when I would shower, he would try to join me... pretty darn funny these fur kids of ours.
I second the request for photos! That would be worth a million laughs L |
Toby has had a thing for the bathtub since he was a tiny puppy. His daddy likes to takes baths in our Jacuzzi, and he came thisclose to tumbling in many times.
Now that he's big, he does like to nap in there sometimes, and I have caught him in our guest bath just standing there many times. Like he's waiting for someone to turn on the shower! Too funny! |
You will have to get him a paddling pool, but make sure it is a solid one.
One of our neighbours gave George a Blow up pool last year and it lasted about 10 minutes!! This weekend he has been lying under the sprinkler in the garden. I think they just want to keep cool. |
Archie likes paddling in the rivers on his walks, it must be a good heatsink, be warned though keep on top of brushing out his legs when dry or they will soon matt |
