Chauncey & I are looking for a foster home
 ) the job lasted till the end of May. It was mud & muck so you can imagine what Chaunce looked like. We had planned on a week or two break before our bathroom remodel OUR ONLY BATHROOM. We ended up with just a weekend between jobs. Bathroom has been on going since May 26th. They have been considerate and replaced the toilet at the end of the day but we are at the mercy of relatives for baths. My dining room & guest room are trashed due to the construction. I currently have a toilet. I do not have a tub, shower, sink, walls, or ceiling. My door is a piece of plastic duct taped to the doorway, my lighting is a bare bulb, the floor is plywood. The projected date of completion is June 30th except for the custom cabinets, which should be mid-July. If I have a shread of sanity left when we get to the Outer Banks the end of July and I leave no dead bodies behind I'll be doing great.
We leave for the OBX July 26th and we will be there for 2 weeks. Our 32nd anniversary is on the 31st. The only stress I want is whether to order a strawberry margarita or a chocolate martini. There is a positive side to this....Chauncey has been wonderful and well behaved, thank God. He has really bonded with the plumber whose family showed OES when he was young. Bob & Chauncey usually decide it's time for a walk when I wander through the house semi-catatonic, eyes glazed, repeating " it will be worth it ".  They're getting alot of exercise........... |
OMG Kathy!!! I don't know how you've kept your sanity (you still seem lucid to me by your post writing)  Hang in there and I hope you have the best vacation and anniversary as you deserve it!!!! Make those double Margarita's and dance the night away on your anniversary.
