I want to hunt them down and kick the c@#p out of them
I was busy getting ready for our Bark in the Park on Saturday and didn't see Catrick when he came back in the house later that evening. Early Saturday morning I'm in the bathroom and Catrick came out of the closet dragging his left hind leg. He flopped down in front of me and let me look him over. I ran my hand over his leg and could feel something was broken. He didn't hiss or try to get away while I inspected him, it was like he had to let me know how bad things were. As soon as I was done, I told him we were off to see the vet in the morning. Catrick, who was purring by then, meowed, got up, and limped back into his spot in the closet. The vet x-rayed Catrick and found his leg broken in three places. He also had a huge hematoma on the haunch. His bladder was severely bruised and he was passing bloody urine. As for surface injury, only a couple tiny little nicks on his hind leg, not bad enough to bleed. My conversation with the vet confirmed my suspicions, Catrick hadn't fallen or been hit by a car. Some miserable, rotten, low life, SOB had either kicked him violently or hit him with a bat or like instrument. If I find out who did it, I should turn them into the police. But my inclination will be to serve up a little dose of what he gave to Catrick. See how he enjoys Orthopedic surgery.  |

| I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I know how hard it is to have to deal with something so horrible.
I have to closely watch over my cats when they are outside. They too never go more than a house or two away. Over the years someone has poisoned one of my cats, broke another ones back and now someone is shooting them with a beebee gun. I can not understand why someone would do something so horrible to an animal.  I have not figured out which neighbor of mine it is and wish more than anything I did. We are moving this summer and I am glad I will not have to worry about them anymore.

| It never ceases to amaze and shock me how cruel people can be these days. Sometimes I would like to just see what the heck is going on inside of their crazy minds! Sorry about your cat. Hope recovery is fast and painless. |

| Behaviorists ( human ) have found that most murder's and serial killers begin their careers abusing animals.
I can't blame you for wanting to kick butt, I'd do anything to protect Chauncey. If you should find the bumhole that did this, I'd report it, inform the neighborhood and make sure to press charges. |
| Oh no thats awful, i try and keep a close eye on my two when they go out as you just cant trust some people anymore!

| Awee... your poor kitty. I hope this doesn't make him afraid of people. Sometimes I'm glad one of my cats hates people. 1) less likely to be stolen because someone loves her 2) less likely of being caught in general

| i have faith that people like the one that did this too your poor cat will in turn have something horrible done to them. I'm a big believer in Karma, and the "what goes around, comes around" theory. I've seen it happen, and silently cheered while "justice" was served.
Whats most important is the Catrick came home to you, so that you could caree for his wounds. Good kitty!!!! |

| I've got your back when you find the lowlifes that did this. I was so angry and still am when I read your post. How horrible! I hope that Karma does pay them back tenfold for the harm they caused a helpless animal.

I don't understand the evil in man's heart, but things like this show us its there. But, what makes it surface is beyond me! Kids now days have so much evil in the games they play that I think some of them really don't understand the concept of pain and death. But, little boys have always had a mean streak anyway! But, now if a man did that - he knows d---n good and well what he was doing! I hope whoever did this, well...... If you don't get him - G_d WILL!!! "Vengeance is mine," sayeth the Lord." | I'm so sorry to hear about Catrick and hope that he heals quickly.
Just a thought - you might want to let the police know about this even though you don't know who did it yet. As one of the previous posters mentioned, many behvoirists believe that sociopaths start with abusing animals. Hopefully we'll hear about Catrick being on his feet soon. OMG, how horrible!! Poor Catrick!  I agree that the authorities should be told of his even if you don't know who did it. They can get a statement from your vet about the injuries and can at least keep it on file in case these incorrigibles do something to another unsuspecting innocent creature.

| Thanks for the kind wishes for Catrick. He's a great boy, pretty much a sheepdog in cat's clothing.
I will speak with the authorities this week after the orthopedic surgeon gives me the final opinion on the damage. Catrick is scheduled to go under the knife around 6 today. It will require a plate and wire to put his leg back together. I'm almost afraid to find out who did this to the boy. I might be the person that is arrested first for assualt, before the lowlife slime that hurt him is arrested for abuse. The great thing is, Utah just passed a felony animal abuse law. So with luck the police will find him before I do. My husband has been busy hiding all the weapons.  |

| Well our boy is out of surgery with a good prognosis. The leg was broken in three places just above the knee joint. The doctor used a plate and nine pins to put everything back together.
The orthopedist agrees with our vet about the circumstances of Catricks injury. So, it's off to chat with the Police. |
| Once the offender is found, we can have a fund raiser to supply a nice Louisville Slugger, hollowed out and filled with lead shot, to you. As well as bail money...... and we need to work on alibis..... I thoroughly believe in an eye for an eye. Or in this case, a leg broken in three places for a leg broke in three places. Followed up by a certain recovering kitty peeing on the offenders head when he passes out on the ground from the unbearable pain. This is why I say I hate people. They can be so d#%n cruel for no reason. Good luck with finding the jerk who is responsible. If they don't pay in this life, they will pay when it's over. |
