I would hold back food for at least 12 hrs, then start with something bland to see if she can hold it down.
I hope she is feeling better soon. |
No food/water for 12 hours after vomiting, then boiled rice and/or BOILED lean hamburger. (The boiling removes even more fat) |
Yeah, the worst thing you can do is try to feed her too soon. You know when you are ill you don't want to eat, same with dogs.
Since she had the history at Easter, be very careful introducing new food. Just a little at a time and don't force her. Her tummy will tell her when to eat. The withholding water is necessary to let all systems settle down. If she seems quite thirsty, give her ice chips to eat/play with. Just a few. |
I take it you haven't just wormed her?
If you are concerned and the vomiting continues your vet can give her a shot to calm the vomiting. We had to have one for Archie when the starving trick didn't stop the vomiting, he was trying to bring up just foam. In his case it was a reaction to the worming tablets. (Sherleys) In addition to the rice/eggs etc, you can try plain pasta, though I recommend steering away from spaghetti! Archie had strings of it hidden in his beard! |
