we must rehome our precious Old English sheepdog, Lodi. Lodi is three years old, AKC registered, all shots current, micro-chipped, spayed and professionally trained. She is socialized with both dogs and cats, completely housebroken and crate trained and is an inside dog but does love to play outside occasionally. We are not asking for a rehoming fee because we do not believe that paying for a dog guarantees good owners. What we are asking is that the person who wants Lodi allows us to make several visits to their home unannounced for the first three months after they take her. WE would also ask that they allow us to observe how their children treat and respond to her and how she responds to them. The first three months would be a trial period for both Lodi and the new owners and a condition would be that the prospective owners would relenquish the dog to us if they were not happy or if we felt that she was not getting proper care. WE have had Lodi since she was born, and she is very important to us and we want to ensure that she is getting a good home with people who are loving and willing to accept the responsibility of caring for her. She requires monthly grooming, daily brushing(at least 45 minutes daily) and at least two long walks daily. She is very well behaved and walks wonderfully on a leash, so walking her is no problem. She is on Nutro dog food and we would request that she continue being fed Nutro. The prospective owners must agree to sign a contract stating that they will continue to feed Nutro, will provide monthly grooming, and will not give the dog away or sell the dog to anyone. Should they need to find a new home for her, they agree to notify us or in the event she is not adjusting or they are not adjusting to her, they agree to return her to us. As I said, this dog is very important to us and we are giving her up only because we have to, due to serious health problems in our family. We will be very picky about who gets her. If you are not willing to make a serious commitment and are not willing to provide the necessities such as yearly shots, heartworm and flea and tick prevention, monthly grooming, and daily care, please do not respond to this ad.
