Paula I just tried something:
I made no sugar cherry Jello but used just one cup of boiling water to dissolve and then turned that into the no sugar vanilla pudding, made by conventional instructions. Oooops, should have used the full 2 cups boiling water as the concoction set up immediately and will probably be sliceable when it chills. Too thick and too concentrated. SO DON"T do it this way.....there's quite an artifical after taste.....blech. Next week I'll give this a second chance. Recently I made the orange sugar free Jello, added sliced peaches and then turned in Cool Whip.....now that was tastey. |
Susan, I seem to remember the recipe being sliceable because the full 2 cups of water weren't used to make the Jello. And the cherry is supposed to be concentrated. But no milk was used in making the pudding, and I don't remember how many cups of water were used.
Maybe my taste memory is better than the reality of the dish! |
Then why use the pudding? Can you remember what it brought to the party? So the pudding was cook type not the instant.......that might cut back on some of the "chemical" flavor. I used the full 3 cups of liquid for the pudding. |
