http://www.stloes.org/photos.html Here is a preview picture of our group from the television appearance: The group picture from Sunday is also up. Nick, the photographer and I were not happy with the results but it is the only one we have so I posted it anyway. I directed Nick as to how I thought it should be taken so that you could see all the sheepdogs and still get face detail since last year's was so bad. But I obviously still have not solved the issue. I guess we have whole year to figure this out and maybe he can practice with our club sometime to see what we can do under the circumstances. If anyone would like a jpeg copy of the group photo - just e-mail us at the club's address and we will send it to you. Thank you all for your patience in waiting for the pictures. |

I notice the posted picture of the group wasn't the final one. He had us seperate the rows more (there are 3 rows of us, for those of you not there trying to see) and we also were sitting down in the middle row for the "real" picture. Didn't those turn out??- I'm sure it should have turned out better than this one. Darn! |
Unfortunately - those are the three rows.
Someone suggested taking pictures in the future of us in groups but I still would like to have one big picture with all the sheepies. The problem is getting the dogs to be seen. You cannot see the dogs in rows two or three because of the people. And I suspect my ideas would take almost an hour to set people up - in that heat I don't know if it can be done. Like I said we have a year to try to come up with a solution. |
JUDI................All the pictures look GREAT!!!!! I love all the different venues ...especially the boathouse and the CWE!!!!! (in the rain!) ...
I can't wait for next year----I know we will perfect that group photo by then...COUNT ON IT!!!!! |

Like I said we have a year to try to come up with a solution. Yes - I saw it was the 3 rows. If you look at me - way over on the left - I am in the 2nd row and still standing. When he took the "real"picture, I (and the rest of the standing people in the front and middle rows) were sitting down. So I wonder what happened to that one! |
I know the photographer - unfortunately for him - hee hee. So I will look into it. But you will have to have a little more patience - I am starting play rehearsals plus have two meetings this week so getting together with him may take a little time.
Sheesh Dawn you taskmaster. I can feel the whip marks on my back! |

Sheesh Dawn you taskmaster. I can feel the whip marks on my back! No rush - really. I just wanted you to know that there should be one that turned out better. Whip marks...hmmm... I was tempted to buy one of those "Indiana Jones" kids whips the other day.. |
I think your eyes were closed in that picture and therefore it was not chosen. |

Oh, boy. 150 people (or whatever) and we all get held hostage to Dawn BLINKING Next year's group photo: we all start teaching our dogs a sit stay now, we stick them on the hill and the humans get OUT of the shot so we can see the dogs? (Well, it's a thought) The pics are great. I have got to get my order in. What I want to know is how you knew who so many of those dogs are? Mind boggling! And how did Sybil end up almost everywhere...? I don't remember her being everywhere. I need to hire Chewie to babysit her next year She's kind of like the Forest Gump of sheepdogs or something. Please be honest, there is one picture (Sunday, page 3, row 3, column 3) that I captioned that I was sooo tired and it was too late to call you so I just guessed at the dogs. Did I get the caption right on your four dogs in the pen? I said Che, Liz, Macy with Sybil in the back. As I said I was going to call you and then I thought, can you even tell your own dogs apart? As I have threatened before, I am going to send Harry over to your house since it will take you months to realize that you have acquired another dog. He may be a bit more obnoxious and playful than the rest but you have so many it will be easier to hide. |

He may be a bit more obnoxious and playful than the rest but you have so many it will be easier to hide. I'd notice...But I doubt he'd more obnoxious or playful than the youngest three...When I sent him back he'd be bringing friends with him. Do you really want to run that risk? You were right about my crew in that you got all the names right Which I'm hard-pressed to do in the heat of the moment. I'm convinced Che thinks his name is "hey, you!!" But if you were aiming for positioning left to right you needed to switch Che and Macy. Or just tell everyone you meant to go from right to left I loved the one of Sybil and Liz coming and going. Somebody was on the ball to get that picture. Very funny. A lot of great shots all around. KB |

Oh yeah, I meant to go right to left. Of course you know which way I meant to go - I am not an accountant because I am easy going and color out of the lines. That was me that took the pic of Sybil and Macy coming and going. I have some more of your group that I will try to send you soon. |
I see a sybil fan club starting |
great pics wish we were there |
I LOVE these pictures!!!!! |
The pictures are fantastic...is anyone willing to share the sheepie cupcake receipe??? They were so adorable! |
I gave Chewie a break from grooming (3 day show starting tomorrow) and went through the awesome collection of Sheepiepalooza pictures.
What a massive undertaking - getting all the people and dog names. Very nice! |

They aren't though at all. Cut vanilla wafers for ears, melt and shape pink starburst fruit chew for tongue and black jelly bean for nose. The hair is made with the Wilton grass tip. |
Great job on all the photos and captions, Judi. I, too, was amazed that you got all the names of the people and the dogs. What an undertaking!!
Bravo!! Have fun with your play. What one are you doing this time? |

My son Jack and I are doing BIG, the musical. It is the same as the movie with Tom Hanks except there is music. It flopped on Broadway but my main goal was for Jack and I to do a show together before I get too old. We will be dancing, including a tap number, and he has a small role that includes a song as a quartet. His girlfriend is going to be in it now too and she is a dancer as well. We had a singing rehearsal last night and I have to laugh over that because I DON'T read music and am easily led astray if I don't have melody so they might as well save the rehearsal time. LOL Thanks for asking. |
Thanks Stephanie!!! I want to make them for Sydney's first birthday party in 2 weeks! |

Awesome pictures! That sheepie on a stick cracks me up! |
Honestly, I attended SheepiePalooza for the first time this year and it was an awesome event in every aspect. If you have not attended, make plans to next year! Judy, Val, Julie and the OES club of St Louis will make you feel at home. I know I did and if I can attend again next year, I will.
The photos are great and if you want to upload any of mine from what I have posted on "MY PHOTOS" here at OES.org, please feel free too. I was also impressed that the dog and people names were not only included but remembered. With so much going on, it would be understandable if someone forgot who someone was, but you guys had it together! Several of us ended up at the "Arch" with out planning to, and we got a fair amount of attention. Would be cute to walk around the Arch in Parade formation.... but where in the heck would we all park???? Anyway, it was fun and we did a bit of word of mouth about the SheepiePalooza event... Can't say enough good things about the OES Club of St Louis, it is well organized, friendly and fun! Leslie some of my favorites: Wynn looking bemused! Where the heck is my mom? Group at St Louis Arch! Artsy shot of dogs behind red gate... I Like it! Sheepie Fun at it's best |

Funny I was just talking to someone else about this Tuesday night and I was wondering about the Homewood suites - there is at least one in the area that allows pets Of course Cindy and I may justy be getting old and pampered but there really isn't anything wrong with a nice clean hotel |
You got it!!! I may bring a friend that used to live in St Louis and we want to stay a week and take in the sights so I would like more comfy arrangements.( or Hubby may want to horn in after all he got a half page on the back of the tails end ) Now if I don't get thrown out for Guinness barking his head off!!!! So where are we staying next year??? Tell them to get ready... |

It is always hard to please everyone. Location and affordability made last year's motel the first choice since you had requested a group rate. Several things under consideration for next year: 1) We intend to use Purina Farms for the whole weekend since we will be hosting the Friday night gathering there. We thought if the hotel was closer to it, then it would make it nicer for the wearier travelers. 2) If anyone wanted a place for the dog's to play before and after Saturday's events, Purina Farms would be a possibility since it was so close to the motel. 3) The performance committe can use time during Friday nights gathering to set up the rings for Sunday - thereby making the day of the picnic a little more relaxing. Several things to consider when selecting a hotel: The closer the hotel is to Purina Farms the more tolerant they are of dogs, especially large breeds. Some hotels have a very limited number of rooms that are designated for pets. Even though the hotel may have vacancies they could be booked up on pet rooms because of allergens. Sort of like a smoking policy when it comes to rooms. We will look into hotels that are nicer on the route but even the year before some people had issues with the ones at which they were staying. Lastly, we can offer some other alternatives to the one that gives us the group rate. Thanks for your suggestions, it will be very helpful in the planning process. |
Unless gas is 8 bucks a gallon I will follow the masses and try not to get lost!! Ginny gave me the wrong address to put in my GPS so we saw the back side of St Louis due to road construction |
