Incontinence in 2y/o?!?

I'm concerned. Lucy appears to have just "wet herself". She's only 2 years old so this isn't an old age related incontinence. This is the first time....she's never had any type of accident before and it doesn't seem to be linked to any type of episode.

My three year old said there was water on the floor and I assumed it was from the cup of water she was carrying around. I went looking and found Lucy laying on the edge of a puddle. I told her to get up and when she did her back end was soaked and I realized it was urine not water. Lucy wasn't in a deep sleep or anything and had been outside about 15 or 20 minutes before. I plan on calling the vet in the morning but until then does anyone have any idea of what could be going on?!?

Could be a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)
I hope she is feeling better soon.
Hi Tasha,
While others will most likely offer better ideas / suggestions, the first thing that comes to mind is a UTI. Many times, this comes with no other symptoms. Could she possibly have a fever?

Good luck, and let us know how Lucy is doing!

I do know that my sheepie, Rheba, has incontinence. It is common in spayed females. It is due to a lack of control of the muscles after the spay. THe vet put her on DES 2x a week and it has dramatically been reduced. She has been on it for a little over a hear although lately I have noticed a few wet spots around the house.
Yes, two thoughts as mentioned above:

The UTI (you need to get a sterile cup from your vet and catch the pee. Take the sample as soon as possible after collection for exam.)

Second is the post spay problems. Vets have little pills for our wet girls.

Hope this clears up soon!
Allie is also 2 and has done this since she was spayed. She only does it after she has played real hard with her Boxer friend. And usually it is when it is warm out. Ofcourse she drinks alot of water while playing, will come in the house and pass out.....Probably happens on average once a month. I have noticed it is more like water, no urine smell at all to it.
My Vet told me last summer she could put Allie on Meds, but it is not a big mess I will wait till she is older, or when it happens more often. And if it happens for no reason at all.

I just clean her up with the spray shampoo and wipe up the floor.
