I feed the crew twice a day 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups at supper time, which around here is usually around 8-ish. I have managed to get her to take a few pieces of kibble but not much. We did run out of their regular food (Nutro Ultra) and hubby brought a bag of Iams (green bag) home. Frank and Daphne seem to be fine. And usually Daisy will eat anything I give her. We are getting the Nutro Ultra today, so she will have her regular diet back. I hope she eats then. I haven't called the vet yet. Daisy seems fine in all other areas. She is going to the bathroom normally. We have been taking walks and going to the dog park. Other than Seepiepalooza she hasn't been around any other dogs. Any thoughts? Advice? If she doesn't eat supper tonight I am calling the vet tomorrow. |

It's been getting warmer and she just came off a somewhat stressful weekend so less than normal eating can be pretty normal with those two things at play. My boys aren't eating anywhere near as much as they were before they left. I would venture to say that Clyde may be under 100 pounds now. |
Oh bless her, I hope she just doesnt like the different food....xx |
She may just not like the change of food.
If she doesn't eat her normal food by tomorrow morning, you might want to give the vet a call. |
with the change in the weather we have some food issues. also nutro is much more palatable than Iams for some dogs. It is probably just the food - I have one of those. |
sprinkle parmesean cheese on top of her food. Someone on the forum recommended that once and it worked. |
Mine won't touch Iams......they all back off. I suspect you have a super picky dog. We'll see when the "old" food comes back. Start her back on half rations and add a bit of enticement......cheese is always a winner here. If all goes well, second feeding can be normal amount. Hope all is OK.
This a.m. two backed off breakfast.......saw some sloppy poop outside. So hot weather has them feeling urrpy. Also we gave the Heartgaard and Frontline over the weekend. |
I thought I saw a post early May regarding an article on Nutro Ultra regarding issues with the food but no recall. Only trouble is I was looking for it to link but I can't find it - so maybe I mixed up my food brands.
Just a thought |
Will she eat any chicken or such? China just went through about of being ill and I just gave her chicken and rice...she's back to normal now. Good idea to see the Vet. |
Just wondering if your baby has eaten??
Fingers are crossed that she gobbled up her kibble this morning |
The store we buy Nutro Ultra from is going out of business. They were out of stock!!! I don't know where to get the dog food now. The good news, Daisy ate. Of course I had to cook her dinner and breakfast. Ground turkey and rice. She gobbled it right up. No hesitation. I guess the reason I am suprised she wouldn't eat the IAMs is becasue this girl will eat anything I put in her mouth. Tomatoes, spinich, bananas etc. Now I am on a hunt to find the coveted doggie food!! |
Glad to hear she eating

WOW!!! Thanks 6girls!! |
in the UK nutro is really hard to get hold of, dont know what has happened. |
You're welcome
We had a hard time finding someone who carried the food we wanted too. We finally called the company and they referred us to the distributor for our part of the state. Turned out a little feed store that's been here for eons was happy to order it for us. So if you have any problems finding it, you might just give the mfr. a call. |
