I agree with you.
Whatever the breed, it was highly irresponsible of the dog's owners to leave the dog unattended in a public spot. Especially where children will be present. Stupid people. Behavior like this is how dogs get banned from public places. |
In many communities, it's a violation of local ordinance to leave animals unattended in public spaces, even tethered.
Find out if that's the case in your area. Then if you see it again, call animal control. Owners like that need a harsh lesson. If it hits them in their pocketbook with a fine, so be it. |
How sad for the dog and how scarey for you |
Are you sure someone didn't just intentionally dump him there with no intention of coming back? |

I agree with you, but is it possible they went to the potty?
Parks usually have one somewhere. I just wondered if there was one nearby........... Still not a good idea to leave the dog unattended, but if nature calls??? |
Good points. I never thought about the dog being dropped off though. The dog was tied to a tree near a picnic table full of picnic things, so my thought was it was their dog. I Just assumed they were swimming in the pool because of how things looked.
I was more concerned about getting our dogs away from the area because of the way the dog was jumping and pulling on his rope. Of course mr mouth (Beau) had to bark back. Cheyenne just kept on walking and ignoring everything. GOod girl |
