The OES rescue contact for OH is Madeline Erickson. I have already emailed her as well as NEOESR. "Would you be able to help rehome a deaf 9 month old Old English Sheepdog? This is the owner's first dog and she is completely unprepared to deal with the challenges of training any dog, let alone a deaf one. (She didn't know he was deaf when she bought him.) The boy is housebroken but lacks basic manners. He is lovable, but needs training and more attention & exercise than he's been receiving. His photo is attached. His name is Harley and he lives in Brooklyn Hts., Ohio. His owner is going to take him to the county pound in Valley View if she can't place him this week. I think he'll be put to sleep there. Please let me know if you can help Harley. I'm trying to contact as many rescue groups as possible so he doesn't get put down, but so far I haven't had any luck. (Note...he doesn't seem like a BAD dog, just untrained. Barks when tied outside, chases the kids in the house and nips at them...Sharon thinks probably puppy mouthing as he doesn't break the skin. They just have no clue how to train, and are not interested in training him)" Marie |

Whew! I'm glad because I was already trying to figure out when I had time to go grab him this weekend. Good to know that someone's already looking out for this boy. |

Wow! That was fast! If his new owners want any info on training a deaf dog, send them my way.
